Very cool, some questionable choices in the different regions, but this still should be an awesome event.

That's a pretty solid line-up.

All of these are tough to call, but here's my predictions:
NA: 1st: Sheth 2nd: KiWi 3rd: Slush (I'm assuming that IdrA will be inconsistent and Maj0r hasn't had optimal practice recently. But either of those two could do well, but they're not reliable).
EU: 1st: ThorZaIN 2nd: White-Ra 3rd: NaNiwa
KR: 1st: Mvp 2nd: Bomber 3rd: PuMa

All of these tournaments look really close, hopefully we'll see some good games! :D

I think this is sort of a blend of the best players and the most popular players. Although the Korean lineup is pretty solid, just a shame there isn't a really established protoss, it would have been great to see Puzzle in it.

I hate to be harsh to Liquid but Haypro and Jinro do not deserve to be there right now and it's probably only due to their popularity that they were invited, which is ok too I guess. But Nerchio/Stephano/DIMAGA/Morrow are all currently better zergs than Haypro and with Jinro, perhaps only Strelok or Tarson could replace him from Europe.

In NA I would argue that a number of players don't deserve to be there but I have no idea who would replace them, so perhaps they do deserve to be there? I feel like NA is really falling behind the level of the European pros. Except for Select, if you count him as part of the NA circuit.

Looking at the invites, I'm not sure I'm interested in following it at all. None of the regions seems to be balanced.

It is just an invitational, so I feel compelled to say that it had to be expected. I feel like an idiot for getting excited after reading "new MLG tournament".

Whatever, I'm sure it'll be exciting enough for other people, so go you, other people!

Apparently in everything MLG does they ignore protoss. 8 korean invites, only 1 protoss and he isn't even in code A?

Wow, MLG and GSL announcing new online tournaments with 24 hours of each other? This is going to be sick

As much as I love seeing Swedes, since I am Swedish, I do agree that there are a couple or more spots that could have gone to some better players. There are some great EU players out there that I think would have been more fun to watch: Nerchio, Dimaga, Stephano, Socke, Morrow etc. etc.

That being said I think it will be super fun to watch, although I still think the pricepool is pretty lame. MLG is such a big and great event I feel that the one thing they are really lacking is a decent pricepool(Open bracket vs pool play issues aside).

No socke

i find it pretty ridiculous to invite haypro and sase with both having close to no achievements and not inviting socke or nerchio or mana

No demuslim? Otherwise it is a very good list. It rewards people like slush and Incontrol that go to all MLGs.

I think doing invitationals like this hurts mlg's prestige though. If the prize is too big then its competing directly with its own finals and it might turn into a nasl situation where theres no point playing a league if you can enter an open tournament and win the finals.

Some players that shouldn't be there imo. NA line-up looks really weak.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
