it seems MLG chose players based on popularity and fanbase, like destiny, puma, and hero. they all arent bad players, but i wouldnt put them on the same class as some of the other invites.

I agree though... puma? He beat MC of course he's at least in the same class, my much bigger problem is the inclusion of Destiny, iNcontrol, and Tyler (I really love all 3 but...) while not having Select OR HuK, when honestly right now either of them could wipe the floor with those 3.

puma and hero when you talk about popularity?

hero is in code a now sure other code s players might be better but he's so freaking good. players like inc tyler are chosen based on popularity. i love those guys but they're not on the same level as the other players.

i actually think they chose a lot of people strictly because of race diversity.

Guys, try reading some posts before you post or make assumptions, its not that hard to skim the thread and see official MLG posts

Guys we invited many people that are not on the current list. To confirm speculation: Yes many people declined invitations. All that being said, we are EXTREMELY happy to have such a stellar top to bottom roster in our first stab at this.

No Huk, Dimaga, or NesTea oh well should still be good
Q: Can you beat IdrA in a real game? Huk's A: I can beat IdrA in a real game...without real units.

I think this is a great move by MLG. I can understand why some players would decline the invite, as this is a new event, and it may not shake out well for them.

Huge week for e-Sports:
GSL August Finals
GSL Anniversary All-Star Event
IPL 3 Qualifier #3
Another TeamLiquid Open
GOMTV's Arena of Legends
NASL Season 2 starting up
and many more!

Well, it brings the viewers in.
Hero is a decent, solid Code - A player, which would be top tier in foreign events. Puma I guess would also be a decent Code S player, not top of Code S but someone who goes Ro 16 - 8. Of course, if you wanted the best players they'd have to bring Polt, Nestea, etc, but some players don't go to foreign events and they might not attract as many players as the popular ones.

Destiny and incontrol? Well, I'll save my criticism for when I see the results. Maybe they'll do better than I expect them to.

They have their strengths as members of the community, but I don't know if they are deserving on a position on a list of limited invites.

EU: WhiteRa
NA: I don t feel like there s any really strong player in there, who is really dominant. I think KiWi and Idra are strongest of those.
KR: Hero! Of course! Who else if not Hero?!

Really looking forward to see the EU players. Some good and some bad choices.
