A month will improve his play but its not like its going to change his career around. Hes a mediocre foreigner in a time where the best foreigners are comparable to mediocre koreans. I dont get these pilgrimages players have been doing lately, qxc, drewbie, grubby etc. Either go to Korea and stay so you can compete, join one of the two pro houses outside of korea, or resign yourself to the irrelevance and low pay of being an amateur, which is what you are.

*facepalm*

Grubby won a tournament qualifier and was invited to Korea to compete in it. Now that he'll be there, he's going to stop by Code A qualifiers along the way because, hell, why not? Do you get why he's there now? People have known about this for a month already.

Additionally, qxc has school, and Grubby has a wife. Are you going to ask them to stay in Korea full-time now?

Grubby will improve while he's there. Getting Code A would be nice, but unrealistic, and he probably knows this. As long as he's there though, why the hell not?
*facepalm* I didnt know why he was there, whats with the unbridled hostility?

And no, as I said- last post- if you arent willing to go to a prohouse or live in korea permanently you my as well give up on starcraft. Going for a month is an immature adventure, at least in grubbys case its an adventure with minor potential for profit due to a tournament. If a person isnt willing to join a pro house or live in korea, they arent taking sc2 seriously, there being immature and short sighted. Basically "playing" around as a progamer, as they have no chance in accomplishing anything.

This is a lot of starcraft life wisdom being dropped by someone who joined TL less than 3 months ago. (insert "I've been lurking for years" response in reply).

I think the hope of this community and outside korea is that we CAN keep up with the Koreans. These extended trips to the "mecca of ESPORTS" help teach forgeiners why and how the Koreans stay so far ahead. I just hope that more and more forgeiners take the korean method to their own team houses and practice schedules.
There is always tomorrow nshs.seal.

Only one month in Korea may serve as a nice life experience, but definitely won't boost up his game.

I think this post is "immature and short sighted"...

Sick I love watching Grubby play :D. I don't see him making it into Code A unless they offer him a place but he will certainly improve a lot over there :D

Grubby is a wc3 legend...
i guess he knows what it needs to improve...

In terms of pure skill and experience he will be the best foreigner in korea.
If he can get good and consistent practice he will improve greatly for sure!!!

I'm not usually a fanboy type of guy, but to Manuel aka. Grubby I just have to give out my respects. He is professional in everything he does and is the perfect role model when it comes to ESPORTS in Europe and the "West", I'd say.

He knows how to handle himself, he knows how to appear in public, he knows to be passionate about ESPORTS and he knows how to freakingly work hard and practice.

I'm actually glad he went solo, I hope even more sponsors attach unto Grubby. I would barely wish so strongly for someone else so remote and away from my real life, but for such special individuals I can't help but to wish them the best. White-Ra is another one of this kind, obviously.

I'm glad he is going to Korea, he will work hard, as usual, and hopefully return stronger than ever.

I've seen Grubby grown back when I played Warcraft III and I must admit that he's a phenomenal player and a fast learner. I promise you that this one month in Korea he will suck up as much knowledge as possible and become one of the, if not, best foreign protoss player.
