I guess if you're going to make it your life, you shouldn't be screwing around in the foreign arena. If you're serious about sc2, then get to korea! Go Grubby!

great news, he's improved so much since he started, and going to Korea definitely can't hurt. gl!

*facepalm*

Grubby won a tournament qualifier and was invited to Korea to compete in it. Now that he'll be there, he's going to stop by Code A qualifiers along the way because, hell, why not? Do you get why he's there now? People have known about this for a month already.

Additionally, qxc has school, and Grubby has a wife. Are you going to ask them to stay in Korea full-time now?

Grubby will improve while he's there. Getting Code A would be nice, but unrealistic, and he probably knows this. As long as he's there though, why the hell not?
*facepalm* I didnt know why he was there, whats with the unbridled hostility?

And no, as I said- last post- if you arent willing to go to a prohouse or live in korea permanently you my as well give up on starcraft. Going for a month is an immature adventure, at least in grubbys case its an adventure with minor potential for profit due to a tournament. If a person isnt willing to join a pro house or live in korea, they arent taking sc2 seriously, there being immature and short sighted. Basically "playing" around as a progamer, as they have no chance in accomplishing anything.

This is a lot of starcraft life wisdom being dropped by someone who joined TL less than 3 months ago. (insert "I've been lurking for years" response in reply).

I think the hope of this community and outside korea is that we CAN keep up with the Koreans. These extended trips to the "mecca of ESPORTS" help teach forgeiners why and how the Koreans stay so far ahead. I just hope that more and more forgeiners take the korean method to their own team houses and practice schedules.

If you correlate length of time on TL with anything related to life wisdom, even if you call it "starcraft life wisdom," whatever that means, then you're proving you don't have much of it either.

edit: If I had to guess, I would say that Grubby would see real, appreciable results if he spent 6 months in Korea. And by that I mean, the ability to make it deep into Code A Qualifiers, possibly qualify, and to be very competitive at all foreign tournaments, probably a top foreigner.

So to hear that he'll be there for only 1 month, well it's positive, but I don't know if we'll see much of a difference or if he has a shot to qualify for code A. Also it's possible that I don't have an accurate idea of his current skill level, because I hear he got better. Best of luck to him though.

Grubby has the talent to rise to the top for sure, it's only a matter of time if he keeps working as hard as he have. Hopefully his trip to Korea will speed things along, wish him all the best and hope I get to see him in Code A!

At this point in the game, one month is not going to do much. Sadly I don't expect much improvement.

I think one needs to spend more time in Korea than 1 month to see significant results. 3-4 is ideal imo!

1 month in Korea may not be much, but 1 month in Korea = 6-7 months in EU/NA

a. Your using the wrong definition of wisdom in my post.
b. I never claimed anything that would require an extensive knowledge of Grubby, Pro SC2 or the SC community.
c. I am simply claiming that the opinions lizzard were so matter-of-factly stated that only one with an extensive knowledge of pro-gaming could say accurately

How do you guys reckon he will do? Will he improve as much as e.g. Fenix?

Thanks sponsors @SteelSeries @EGS_inc : Going to Korea for a month to train thx to u guys btw anyone know when GSL Code A Nov Quals are?

PS; Sorry if this was posted earlier, couldn't find it when searching for it!

It's actually IM Fenix, not eg fenix. trololol

Anyway, I think anyone who plays dedicatedly would improve in Korea. Its only a month though, so I don't know how lagre the improvement is gonna be in that time.

Great news to see Grubby going to Korea to train. He was not good when he started, but he is continuing to improve. Grubby is obviously no stranger to Korea and he should have a great amount of players that he will play with.

Aaahh so gosu! I fucking LOVE grubby. If MKP, Losira and Grubby all became kittens I would take all of them home and snuggle.

Anyway, we've seen what this time has done for SaSe (watch his stream, he's a beast) Fenix and everybody else in the world who ever went to korea for any reason (yes, they all became gosu).

Also, Grubby is known around those parts somewhat I'd imagine from his WC3 days, even though WC3 is more of a china thing. I know that there will be people who say "well he's not already the best player EVAR, why would he botherlol??" (amended version). And it's obviously that he wants to get better. He wants to go SC2 full-time (at least it looks like it) and this is an excellent start.

Grubby fightiiing! Bladmaster imba.
