I just had two of my own players teamkill one another in the finals of a Crying Babbies tour. Can't believe how much that actually makes me proud despite this just being a manager game, haha.

it would be interesting if It didnt show you the highest bid, and instead just went to the highest bidder

I'm kinda happy... Just auctioned off my 32-year old player that was roughly 8 macro, 6 micro, 5 vX. Yeah, he's pretty good, except I couldn't shake the feeling that he'd retire on me in the next day or 2.

Made a cool grand off of him, which is more than his total tourney winnings

Trying to transition my team into something younger and more sustainable. When I started, I didn't know what I was doing so I focused mostly on ex-BW & WC3 players. Seemed like a good idea at the time but it really doesn't leave you with much of a transition plan...

edit:
Wow, crying has won out. To help noobs get "decent" players we now must blindly buy free agents.

Holy crap, this is awesome. I had about 10 bids in for low-stats, extremely high dedication players. Of course, they're going to lose all their free agent tourneys so no one will want them. I will now have an awesome stable of up-and-comers! Long term prospects are lookin' good for my team now...

This is a horrible idea; now this really will enable the rich to get richer while poor get poorer. Bid times last 24 hours and the only way to estimate player skill with ? ratings is to bid on high placed free agents. Obviously the rich teams are going to easily see the good players because they are at the top of the list as compared to high salaries in the free agent pool. Compounded by 24 hour auction times mean that now instead of only bidding within your time zone you now bid against all rich teams who have the ability to see the auction before it ends.

Before the issue was people expected something for nothing and wouldn't enter into a risk, now you're taking a massive risk to get a decently placed player because everyone is bidding on the decently placed player and you can't even see if they are a dud or not. Would not be surprised to see some mid to low tier teams go bankrupt as they try to buy seemingly good players and instead receive a 8 vT dud who just got lucky by being matched with Terrans into the SF.

I think the opposite is true. Rich teams did not look for new free agents, they just bid for them in the last 5 minutes of the auction. Adding uncertainty, hiding the current bids, etc. will decrease prices and allow poorer teams to compete acquisition-wise. Placement is not everything; there will be a lot of hidden gems with low endurance for example. And you were always competing against the rich teams...

There will probably be a way to "scout" players to get a rough estimate of their stats in the future, but it will have tradeoffs...

So now there's even less scouting and lower ranked players can no longer receive a scouting bonus. High ranked teams don't care about uncertainty, they can afford the salary, it's not a big deal to them. It's for lower tiered players who can't afford to discover they picked up a kid that lucked his way to the finals.

You were not always competing against rich teams under the old system because auction timers were short. Now they are 24 hours you are effectively bidding against everyone rather than a small percentage of players. You can already see the bids made by other players, at least I can.

Auction length was always 24 hours for FAs.

True but there was no way of searching for free agents without browsing through massive lists of crap players and all the great players who were easily noticeable were only there for a maximum of twenty minutes. Now the best are at the top of the list for a full 24 hours. You can't miss them.

I was thinking if i should start this game again but it seems like a bad idea. There's already several pretty much skill capped players. Few weeks and there will be hundred. I mean sc2managers end game seems kinda retarded. Maxed out players battling against each others and hoping to get lucky.

Secondly, free agents bidding now might help to get players cheaper, but now you just have to randomly bid on players without knowing their stats. I wouldn't really want to bid on players with 1 creativity. Everything is just made so much harder for new teams. Can't even get those right jobbers to help your team with the practise without bidding randomly to dozens of players.

Thirdly, server still lags a bit.

Beginning of the season is definitely best and most exiting part of this game.

I agree that stat growth is way too high. Achieving a perfect 10 in a stat should be a career long endeavour (or close to one). That way there'd actually be real thought processes behind picking which stats to work instead of just doing everything.

It would also increase the value of ex wc3/bw pros as they'd have a stat down pat already and would be free to work on other stats. As it stands now their speciality stats are achievable in 2-3 in game months in exchange for them being years older so theres no reason whatsoever to pick one over a younger player.

The strategy system also needs to be reworked. I don't know what they could do but anything is better than the current slider for every 30 seconds of the game system .

Lol, same here. And worst case scenario, plop them on the market. You'll make some decent cash.

EDIT: In the last two ticks, one of my high dedication youngsters went up by 3.8 points in multitasking. Man he's training up quick.

Contact sc2m staff.
They have a thread for it on their forum or just pm them on TL or irc. They'll fix it.

I know this information exists because I saw it the other day but I forgot where it was - I believe the training takes place 4 times a day but what are the times for those?

Q: What the hell is training?
Training is the main way to gain stats. Training is automatically done 4 times a day, so the stats from practice will change every 6 hours, at 00:15, 06:15, 12:15, and 18:15 server time. The numbers next to the stats show change in the last whole day / last 4 ticks
Stats gained in training are dependent on: the training focuses specified on the player's page- primary, secondary and tertiary. There is no difference in the stat gain for these focuses, and they do stack. What also helps is a practice partner with good teamwork and high specific skills, as well as a team captain with high leadership. So what you want to do is give players a practice partner with high skills in what you want to train.

It's in the FAQ :D

I've been editing the wiki a bit, try to find things in the wiki before asking here. That being said, I find a surprising amount of stuff to be inadequate on the wiki. If there is something that is missing/ vague, I will try to answer it and update the wiki.

It seems like it is not as easy as i thought to poach a player. My star player has "earned" 80k in the last two hours by threatening lawsuits, and i don't even have a lawyer.

What? I know you get the money when players try to poach your players.
Do you get all of the money or just a percentage of the poached amount?
And that 80k is all from poaching? :O
