His form is completely fine except for not touching his chest (he might have shoulders problems or something that prevents him from doing so) and a lot of people prefer to have their legs drawn back more so they are on their toes and can get better leg drive than being flat footed. You're supposed to arch your back, I get no pain from it whatsoever even with a slipped disk from deadlifting a year ago. The only problem is his elbows are a bit flared and his feet probably aren't drawn back far enough, but Incontrol knows enough about lifting to point these things out.

The point of benching is to not use your other body parts to get the weight up. People who roll on their upper back and arch their feet do it incorrectly. The people that do it best are the ones who tuck their knees into the air or the put their feet on the bench under their butt.

No, those are complete idiots and you see them in the gym for three years benching 135 the entire time.

If you bench 405 with a flat back
and 445 with an arched back and leg drive

during the 445 your chest and tris are still doing the 405 and going to failure either way
and the leg drive/lat stimulation/decreased range of motion makes up for the 40 other pounds.

It's the same amount of stimulation regardless, if not more due to having more weight placed on the muscles during the negative. Who are you to even say they're even doing it "incorrectly"? Incorrectly by what definition of the word? Because clearly they are going for one rep maxes and Incontrol at least is focused on powerlifting, and that is how every good powerlifter in the world benches (not "correctly" with 135 on the bar and their feet up on the bench).

Anyway it's leg day and I'm off to the gym. Continue arguing if you must, while the EG guys continue to do the same thing because Incontrol knows what he's doing.

The gym I go to now, the person that owns it was a bodybuilding champ for quite a few years and he said definitely always have an arch in the back while legs tucked in and wide apart and firm on the ground, he taught me a few other ways, but he said that was the best way to do it.

Hi. Do you know what the point of having a small arch in the back while the buttocks and feet are planted during a bench press?

Do you know the difference between that, and those who lift their buttocks and end up on their toes?

i loved the bench pressing, btw anyone know what incontrol takes, supplemental wise?
also to everyone who calls him fat, i say this, last years worlds strongest man weighed in at 375 lbs, and not a single competator weighs less than that, and none of them have the build of a bodybuilder. i would like to know how much INC weighs for comparative purposes, since last years winner benches less than double his body weight.

I think people call him fat because compared to the average person, weight lifters are "fat." You won't be able to change their minds.

I was shocked to see Idra actually get 205 though, he can easily go up to. Looks like I need to get back to the gym.

Well he is fat by medical standards. That high of a body fat percentage doesn't mean he's skinny lol. He's obviously very strong too. Putting up that kind of weight obviously takes a pretty sizable amount of muscle. Being strong does not mean that you aren't fat though. If he actually lost some weight and maintained his current muscle mass he would be a scary looking dude.

Having body fat to support your giant muscles is not unhealthy though, the term "fat" cannot be used as an insult in that sense.

Body fat doesn't really "support" muscles but I didn't mean it as an insult anyways. Was just pointing out that just because someone has a lot of muscle mass doesn't mean they're not fat. Clearly iNcontroL is quite strong though.

Haha, it was funny watching PuMa greet his team Korean style! And Anna is pretty funny, though I'm pretty sure she lifted only the bar itself :p.

Lmao the way Anna said, 'like, way more than you could ever imagine' was hilarious.
Nothing like a weightlifting video to bring out the anonymous internet experts who spout their pseudo expertise though.

The house looks awesome, (if a bit dark when you were playing o.O) and I liked the not-so-subtle monster drink placement.
Dunno how you guys can drink that stuff....it's gross!

Thanks for sharing the videos.

A Korean coworker of mine is the same way, but over the last three years or so of working with him I've come to the understanding that he's just naturally a very shy and quiet person. That coupled with rigid Korean culture doesn't really lead to guys like them showing their emotions very well. I've read that PuMa is known for being very nervous at events, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's just a little more introverted that the average progamer. The EG guys seem like a pretty tight group of friends though, I'm hoping they can get PuMa to open up.

Benching is about your chest and now how much total weight your body can put up...
Why would you ever choose failure, when success is an option.
