On the female note, I really wish Slayers would put out that young girl they have on their team in one of the GSTL's - she's just sitting there and it bugs me, I want to see her kick some ass. There is a reason why she haven't played a game yet and that reason doesn't have anything to do with her being a girl. If she could kicka ass then they would let her kick some ass.

After they've had a chance to experience the competitive environment against each other, they'll be battle hardened and ready for the league merging! For anyone who is going to call me "sexist," or any of those "feminists" who think I'm being chauvinistic, I am only suggesting this in the interests of seeing as many female gamers as there are male gamers some day. Feminism is about equality, and I think to work towards equality, we need to make sure the flame doesn't get stamped out before it has a chance to burn. Let's face it, there are not many pro female gamers, and any new ones that are up and coming are probably going to be stomped in tourneys (not because they are female, but because they are relatively new) by the guys who have been practicing all day every day for the last year. The problem with my suggestion is that we would need an explosion of female teams in order for a whole new league to be formed =( Female teams like this one are the sparks needed to get girls into e-sports! Really like the Name and Logo ![]() On a related note to the quoted poster, i really hope a womens only league doesn't happen if its for any kind of big prize money(im talking regular MLG prize pool or bigger here). I don't like the idea that inferior players(Im making the assumption that the reason the league would be separate is because of current skill level) could earn more than better player just based on the fact they are female. This also applies to all " discrimination " such as if a tournament where to flat out refuse to allow anybody with a korean passport into the tournament. If its your own $500 tournament, go ahead and do what you like but for big prizes I want it to be the best that win.

Do you girls only accept "real" players because my girlfriend is a huge Starcraft 2 nerd and works shitloads with e-sports here in sweden (http://www.layers.se/wp-content/uploads/210604_10150213359347835_518752834_8484373_5622568_o1-650x423.jpg) and would probably love to join, although she isn't that good or plays that much she really burns for e-sports.

Yeah holy shit I know right, I came to this thread firstly to voice my happiness at more infrastructure for female players and secondly to laugh at the one guy that is usually banned in the first page of responses. Also Yay infrastructure!

I honestly can't wait for the first female player to make it into the upper echelons of the pro-scene. I've always found it irritating in sports where there's a division between male and female play.. because really all I want to see is the best players at any given sport playing each other and there's usually no compelling reason to create a barrier between the sexes. Starcraft is perfect for a potential breakthrough as there's no reason I can think of why girls should be any worse than guys (apart from the statistical fact that they're currently drawing from a smaller player pool... which hopefully the first success will help to remedy!) :D

Like han_han wrote, it's about equality. There's a WPGA, and for that matter, a women's league in pretty much every sport I can think of... why shouldn't there be in e-sports also, competing for equally lucrative prize pools. Seriously are you living in 2011? or 1911? Equal opportunities for competitive gaming means letting women have their own league if they want it. Later, like han_han said, and the community is more open to it, they can start merging the two for competitive play. That's not to say that we don't have players that can and are willing to compete against male competitors... we do!! All of us are more than happy to kick a guy's butt on the ladder!! on my opinionated post tho... Nobody will ever win the Battle of the Sexes. There's just too much fraternizing with the enemy. ~Henry Kissinger re: clan PMS/H2O Most of us are all friends and have met each other through other social media, forums and on the ladder. I'm sure at some point we'll enter some friendly rivalry, or play against each other in the future for something other than a 2lb chocolate ![]() Ultimately for me, it's about promoting e-sports as a whole and trying to contribute something to the development of it.

I'm not going to argue for that guy's point, but you cannot use physical sports in a comparison to starcraft. The reason there is a WPGA and a women's league in most sports is obviously because of the physical differences between men and women. That is not to say in anyway that having a female starcraft league is a bad thing, best of luck!
