It's a convenient and obvious place to post opinions about Moletrap, and technically we are staying on topic since we are discussing how his casting had progressed (or lack thereof) for the "long term".
The fact that it is now a giant bash feast just tells you what the majority opinion of his casting is.

Moletrap's grown on me over time, I feel that he has improved during his duration at GSL, and with constructive feedback will continue to improve.
WITH CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK
I feel that jumping on a "bandwagon of disapproval" is why this thread has recently exploded once again. I also suspect that any supposed "majority voice" is not so.
Reminds me of the witch hunt Kelly Milkies endured last year.

I like Moletraps casting very much (I think he is one of the better casters they have) but this thread turned into a bad one a long time ago, and I don't feel much like voicing my opinion here. (Now I did it anyway.). My point is, I think it's more likely that haters will post in this thread than those who like him. You can't draw any conclusion about what the majority thinks from it.

I don't see why this thread would be anything but an accurate representation of the majority opinion of moletrap's casting?

Reminds me of the witch hunt Kelly Milkies endured last year. The difference being ...
Kelly was for me as a foreigner hard to understand because of her accent. However, her game knowledge was quite okay, and she actually paid attention to what was happening.
Moletrap is easy to understand, but lacks a basic understanding of the builds, the game, the plan of the players, etc.
I think most people that are annoyed with Moletrap are from the higher leagues, simply because we react to what he is saying - and what he is missing / misinterpreting.
I am not sure how much he plays, but I feel like his game understanding is the most lacking of anyone that has cast for GOM.
So my constructive feedback would be ... watch a lot of replays from the start of the games, and check what builds people are using, write it down etc, so you can recognize them correctly when casting. Timings of gas, expansions, production facilities, all indicate specific things ... which I fear he doesn't seem to catch on to more so than other casters.

At least it's not Kelly Milkies.

My experience of the internet is that the haters tend to be alot more vocal with their view on things.

The GOM comments section are filled with people criticizing Moletrap. These are generally paying customers, their feedback should be acted upon IMO. GOM is a business and sometimes businesses need to make the right decisions by their customers instead of sheltering under-performing employees.

Jesus christ. This guy is terrible. How is he a PROFESSIONAL caster?

Well, according to this poll, most people would prefer Kelly Milkies. That speaks volumes, if nothing else does.
edit: poll keeps swinging both ways.

I'm sure Moletrap has his supporters, and from what I hear he was pretty good back in BW days (which is probably where most of his support comes from). Sure people tend to be more vocal to criticize than support, but that doesn't mean you ignore the criticism.
While it is certainly true that this thread has pretty much turned into a place for people to say how much they dislike Moletrap, by and large most of the posts are pointing out what areas Moletrap needs improvement on (and you can look at the early pages and see people have been criticizing the same things for months). Even those who like and support Moletrap have to admit his in game knowledge is just terrible. To me the fact that he has not really improved in the areas that people have criticized shows that he is not a good fit for GOMtv.

Because the majority of unhappy viewers will complain, while the majority of content viewers will remain silent. This thread is not representative of the general opinion, whichever that may be.
Moletrap is a decent caster and regardless of what people think of him, the passion and commitment to cast long term in Korea have to be admired. He can definitely hold his own, but just has the bad luck not be in the same league of casting quality as e.g. Wolf, who I feel has a natural talent that Moletrap lacks.
MT is making up for it over time; he has improved over the seasons. By no means is he "awful" or anything. We should be glad to have multiple dedicated english casters over there instead of just having to rely on the same people over and over again that might just burn out without any backup.

Moletrap has earned it... Well done sir!

My opinion on Moletrap/Khaldor: Very bad together My opinion on Moletrap/Wolf: Good together
I think he goes with some people and not others. Mind you I am also of the opinion that Wolf is a great caster.

I've only seen MoleTrap with Khaldor, so I can't speak to that exactly, but I was watching Gretorp and Khaldor cast together last night and they are amazing together. They have fluent transitions, they apologize when interrupting and pick back up again well. They don't criticize each others comments or stop over each other, they have no awkward silences, etc.
So, in order to keep this a bit more constructive than "omg moletrap sux": I don't think Khaldor and MoleTrap go well together, and when watching them cast together, MoleTrap is the weak link. Therefor, I'd like to see him switched out with someone else, or REALLY stepping up and doing a better job.

i would like his casting more if he didn't use so many puns

I'm pretty new to SC in general but I've been watching GSL religiously for a few months now and I agree with the general sentiment that moletrap is their worst caster. He seems like a good enough guy and everything but I find every match he casts less enjoyable specifically because of his casting.
His color commentary makes me cringe, his delivery and overall speaking style needs work, and his game knowledge seems to be lacking. When I see the comments filled with people bashing him I'm inclined to agree, and it's no use saying "Well, all the people who like Moletrap don't say anything". First, that's just speculation, and secondly there obviously are many people who watch GSL who are turned off by his casting, enough that I think he should move on and find something else to do with his life.

The people in this thread definitely do not accurately represent the majority of the community!
