Cross Spawn Crypt doesn't look too bad for Zergs and neither does Shipyards or Caverns. Oh wait you only get Cross-Spawns 1/3 of the time... sucks.
Seeing these maps reminds me of Steppes of War tank / bunker pushes against a Zerg, infallible.

Random player here, and I, for one, welcome our new siege tank overlords. It was kind of annoying not having any good positions for tanks in the previous map pool, as virtually everyone, myself included, vetoed Delta Quadrant and Slag Pits. The new maps should make siege tanks viable against Protoss once moar.
This is not sarcasm; I like the new maps, and have vetoed three popular ones (XNC, Taldarim Altar, and Shakuras) to increase my chances of playing on them.

New maps always take some time to get use too... No doubt the new maps will introduce some fresh tactical and strategic opportunities, I'm excited to see what the high level players can do on the new maps!

that person complaining about the zerg seeing you mine on shattered temple unpunished just reminded me of a bw game, its in the video pimpest plays 2007 at the 6:50 minute mark.
In short terran sees the ovi scouting the natural minerals (so he only sees the scvs and still can retreat if spotted, not seeing if there is a cc though). Terran sends workers there to mine one load, chases the overlord away and does a stim medic firebat rush.
And if they shatter meta, thats such a huge building, there would be 300 rocks on that maps minimum !

I absolutely hate the new maps. Unfortunately I only have 3 vetoes, so Antiga stays for me (Zerg player). I've played around on the ICCUP and GSL maps a bit, and I love them. It's really lame to see the pro's play those cool maps, while all I can play in a competative atmosphere is the lame ladder maps, minus a few like Tal'darim.

Nerazim Crypt is a nightmare in TvZ cross spawn, an absolute nightmare.
I would honestly predict that at the highest level Terrans will primarily be cheesing in these positions.
The middle is completely wide open, with 4 xel nagas to be able to take with lings and have constant huge vision radius of whatevers coming. Enormous map with a plethora of expansions. No good engagement in center radii for tanks. Just awful.

I think the removal of Metalopilis is good. Been around way too long. And yay for Caverns!

Metalopolis removal is sad but reasonable, putting searing crater in is retarded though and possibly the worst map I have ever seen, even worse than steppes imo o.o

Why not have an option of choosing to find a match on a certain map? And an option to choose randomly if you so wish.

Alright, so far I really like Nerazim from a design standpoint. The third base isn't "free", but it's definitely possible to take too. The ramp leading down to the third makes a nice choke so even though it's not super close to your natural, you can defend it against marginally larger armies. The middle is quite open which I can see being bad for terran/protoss, but there are some large chokes between the towers so it's not horrible. It's also symmetrical, thank christ, so there's no massive difference between cross pos and close pos.
