Whenever you hit post in this thread, think long and hard. Are you showing the proper amount of respect? If that is not the case, do not hit the post button.

Theres not really much more to add.. this has gone too far.. lawsuits over the internet.. ROFL... I have to say I agree with ManOnBoy and iNSiPiD1.

Grow up and learn to live in society with the good and the bad, stop taking everything for granted and accept the fact that you are not alone in the world.

P.S. don't use the word 'celebrity' for everyone that has received a comment by the community pretty please.

This. A million times this.

Jessica is just pulling a sexist move. Very blatantly putting a female ahead of males in a community VASTLY dominated by males.

And she's confused why people are lashing out.

HA

Why don't you just drop it? It's a move to generate female interest in playing SC2. The more boorish comments like this I see, the more I support her decision.

Oh really? What happened to equality? You want to be equal, then you should be TREATED as equal. Not given special treatments.

Slayers does not need to make up excuses for their actions, just reasons, they don't need to justify themselves to anyone, their team, they decide who goes in.

If they want to have that kind of attitude(which they don't) then that's fine.

But don't whine when people get pissed.

SlayerS_Jessica is a celebrity because she is an actress I believe, not because she is boxers wife.

48 pages in this thread and it still seems that a lot posters don't understand that there are laws in place in South Korea that allow people to pursue legal action against the malicious Internet haters.

SlayerS can recruit whoever they want and receive the good\bad criticism that goes along with it.

The hate and childish antics isn't criticism.

She was only given that chance because she is a girl.

What about all the other thousands of diamond or higher players that could also train with slayers, and potentially be as good if not better?

If anything, you just proved the point.. Shes only on the team because she is a girl. And that is what pisses people off. I'm not saying everyone's reaction was a good or bad thing, I'm just saying that is what happened. And I'm laughing at the fact Slayers_Jessica didn't see it coming.

You give a female a free ride in a male dominated community and you are GOING to piss the males off. Duh.

And don't think there aren't people assuming the only reason a girl was recruited is because Jessica is herself, a girl.

This, a million times.

That said, it dosn't justify the cyber-bullying like death threats and such. However, criticism is EXPECTED and is NOT cyber-bullying in my eyes. While I applaud jessicas enthusiasm I also get the feeling she hasn't been part of internet culture enough to understand stuff like this is EXTREMELY COMMON and she is definately overreacting to MOST of it.

Pulling the "korean-culture card" isn't a valid argument in my opinion; It's not korean territory, the internet is global. If you can't deal with it, then leave.

Jessica, you should know that you have the full support of the vast majority of our community. It's your decision and you and Eve should both know that while there are immature people who can't seem to appreciate the awesome community we have, most people do and are thankful that you do your best to make E-sports better.

Love all the privileged males in the thread complaining that a girl for ONCE gets preference over them, it isn't like we're overrepresented in everything else right?

People under-estimates peer-pressure/social pressure. It must be tough for a girl to break into this male dominated scene. Jessica is helping here, that's all, and that's good. Girl is still diamond league, give it a break, 99% of posters here cant achieve that.

Guys, she's grooming a female starcraft player, which could potentially encourage more women to join professional gaming/cultivate interest amongst the opposite sex, and some people have a problem with this? You guys don't know what's good for you LOL.

I stopped reading at "Bloodless Murder." If you want a rational thinking individual to see this as something other than an overreaction, nonsense like that ain't the way.

1. Do you know if she is an subpar player or not ? Have you seen her play ? As far as i know she never played in front of a crowd nor are any replays available. Id rather watch her play first and bag on her later
2. She is not a team member but a trainee
3. I heard that July was a sub par player when he joined POS. No in fact he had no experience with the game at all. All he had was fast hands. He was trained by POS (Later MBC Game Heroes) for 2 years and finally became the player he is now. By your logic he shouldnt have been given a chance to be a pro gamer because he did not have any prior records.

i would say that MOST of the people, or at least so i feel ,do not have a problem with girl joining slayers, but rather because she is vastly overreacting to some haters.

Ye, look at the stats how many businesses are started by women, same for men. Don't give me that fucking argument which won't hold any argument. Fucking joke.
If 2 candidates are fairly equal, but one applicant is female, he gonna pick the female. Just because he doesn't like law suits. That's the truth in high competitive areas like investment banking, consulting, etc - which are fairly equal to professional sport.

If you want to make real life comparisons, get your facts straight.

By the logic of people posting here

Teams should not be allowed to train players from the start but should only be allowed to pick up players that already have shown themselves in tournaments or the ladder.

I think quite differently. It is in fact very valuable that players are trained from the start to become a part of a team. Look at soccer. Clubs will spend millions on their young players. Soccer Players at that age are not worth the value that are spent on them. But when they hit a certain age and they get good results, thanks to the training they received, they will be much more valuable (sometimes even worth tens and hundreds of times more then the money spent on them)

Half the people don't have a problem with her grooming a female player to be something good. The other half don't have a problem with her reaction.

I mean come on. She is trying to grow a female player so that maybe they could tap into a market that is not currently tapped. How the hell else is it gonna happen if a girl doesn't train with a pro team??!?!? Even males who are practicing in player houses are having troubles competing, it is really competitive. This is a great start. That is all there is to the whole "female" thing.

As for the over reaction... maybe... maybe not. But you can certainly understand where she is coming from by trying to protect one of her players. It is an investment and having the entire online community attack a female player for joining a pro team isn't the best way to involve female players in the game...

So, if Eve actually plays against a competitor, should she get some sort of handicap? People are upset because, in the end (for me at least), I want good games. I don't want eye candy with only middling abilities.

My beef with SlayerS is that, while I want female progamers, I don't want Eve to just show up and be terrible. If she ends up being successful, then great. However, if she ends up failing miserably, it will only serve to set-back future efforts to have female progamers.
