BUT you have to realise fighting a war against the internet trolls is pointless. If you're going to be under the spotlight, you're going to have to have a thicker skin. Fighting back will only make them do it more, because they love to get a reaction out of you. This is just how the internet is, they will always be nasty and say terrible things - you can't change that, you're much better off just ignoring it and not taking it personally. | ||

I am glad there are means to fight back in Korea, and I fully support your actions Jessica. Usually I would just say "ignore the haters", but when somebody takes it this far they really deserve action taken against them. It's only fair that what goes around comes around, and it bites them in the ass eventually. Here's to hoping that most of the news coming from Slayers in the future is about new esports achievements and less about needing to deal with these kind of things. Slayers_EVE fighting! I have been one of your supporters if you will from the start of this sad episode. I think all the hate thats been thrown around is just ridicilous, we are the Starcraft community. We are know for manners and being a good community. Dont let this change! As for EvE I completly agree that she might not have won anything yet, but Diamond in Korea is equal to I'd say high masters in EU/US so she surely isnt bad at all. I hope she will do well and prove herself in the future, I for one would LOVE to see a girl succeed in SC2 and make a name for herself aswell as making more girls get into gaming and SC2. And last, from the bottom of my heart I really do hope BoxeR does not care about the little bit of criticism that may have arisen towards him. He was the reason I once upon a time started watching competetive Starcraft. He made me talk my friends into playing Starcraft and from there on it went. He is and will forever be a damn legend of the game and people talking down on him are just idiots who doesnt accomplish anything themselves. SlayerS fighting! EvE fighting! BoxeR fighting! I don't think it was particularly sexist, its no secret that girls are currently nowhere close to guys in pro-gaming. The progamer girl barely even exists. Maybe I read it differently, but I didn't get the implication that Eve could "never" be as good, although considering her current level she probably won't ever reach those kinds of heights. That being said, I completely disagree with recruiting someone based purely on gender. I think when you're basically saying "we're picking you because you're a girl" that's really detrimental to e-sports and I totally disagree with it. People should be picked based on skill, end of story. If a girl makes it into a proteam, I want to be able to be excited, to say wow that's awesome let's see how she plays, not have her become some kind of awkward bench-warming mascot because she's actually only playing in the Gold/Diamond league or whatever. | ||

Makes no sense to me. A professional player must be chosen only considering his results and not other factors at all. I find all this a bit sexist and disrespecteful to womans in general, but maybe its just me. | ||

That is not how this reads though. The implication that she cannot perform well in the GSL, and is just there for entertainment, is also troubling. Again, hopefully, these things are attributable to the language barrier. As it is now, Jessica's post is very disturbing to me from top to bottom - the top due to Jessica's own wording and the bottom because of the unnecessarily harsh treatment Eve has received. | ||

Cultural differences are nothing to laugh at just because something might seem strange to you, or I, it is my hope that people will see this (what she wrote) and not read things to litterally and go all black/white, but actually take the time to sit down and ponder what this is. Anti fans that hate so much that people kill themselves is just horrible, and I hope things will settle down with this Eve girl. Please people, when you read Jessica's post, do understand the cultural differences here and bear that in mind before you start judging. | ||
