It also raises the question, why bother "growing" foreign players when you can allow korean teams to train their litter and just buy out anyone who wants to? I know that's the case with other sports like importing negroes to play in asian basketball leagues for a reverse example, but at this early stage in SC2? I don't like it.

Nope. It's more like two stories to each side - the real one, and the one they'll grace the public with.

But oh well - roll out the EG damage control PR squad again.

Anyone saying what Puma did here is wrong is delusional.

Scenario A: Puma stays with TSL, has to bank his ENTIRE sc2 tournament winnings on ONE tournament, and rarely leaves Korea for international tournaments. We'll assume hes getting paid, but obviously less than he would with EG.

Scenario B: Puma joins EG, gains a higher salary, and travels all over the world to multiple events while gaining notoriety and more opportunities for cash prizes.

Yea.... I'd like to see how many people take Scenario A.

It's very simple. Had EG contacted TSL for the said player "PuMa", it's more than likely that TSL agreed to having the player join the team EG and everyone would have been happy. But because EG went behind the player's team and his coach/manager, we now ended up with this retarded fiasco.

Oh please. Do you actually believe the bullshit you just typed?

Why is this bs?
It does not need to be fun to be fun.

For example, I have no problem talking to players (let's say DIMAGA) and saying "hey I'm wondering if you'd be interested in joining Fnatic." But knowing that he's a player on a team, that's really where the conversation needs to end. Anything further becomes a disrespect to the actual team and the whole idea of esports.

Exactly this. I have no problem with whoever went up to Puma and asked him "would you like to join EG". It's when they clearly already have a contract set up before even telling TSL that it becomes shady.

As for the people asking if they should have talked to TSL sarcastically, yeah they should have. Professional businesses do this and it works out fine. If they can beat out TSL's offer and get Puma, fine. Not giving TSL a chance to talk to Puma until the deal is done is super shady.

Thanks for posting, I was looking for a viewpoint from someone within an e-sports team, this situation is getting really odd.

Yeah EG is doing bad, idra isn't. One player doesn't make a team!

But i mean several teams have only one player perform, what liquid player has done anything (recently) besides HuK? what oGs player besides MC. The list goes on...stop just hating on EG cause it makes you sound stupid

Really?

Oh wow.

Well put.

Double slap in EG's face by two respectable foreign team managers.

That makes sense.
Sirscoots:"Hey Coach Lee we want you're best player"
Coach Lee: Sure Scoots!

Now would that make any sense xD

Right.... so the other option must be to steal the player behind the team's back. That makes even more sense

In this situation nothing is really right tbh. I just hope EG buys TSL so we can all be friends again

honestly that's the biggest issue to me after all the recent drama.

perhaps the foreigner SC2 tournaments are simply greener pastures than the idiotically top heavy GSL structure that forces you through the no prize Code A tournament and up/down matches.

this is SC2, a game that's been out for about a year. it has no guaranteed future and no long-standing history. it's booming right now in the US and Europe, so why not take advantage of that and go where the easy money is now?

maybe the issue is that the GSL needs to shape up or ship out.

LG Super Tournament had a prize pool comparable to Dreamhack.

$191,000 is comparable to $63,000 how? Are you talking about the entire dreamhack event for games outside of SC2?
i was driving down the road this november eve and spotted a hitchhiker walking down the street. i pulled over and saw that it was only a tree. i uprooted it and put it in my trunk. do trees like marshmallow peeps? cause that's all i have and will have.

THIS and nothing else!
I don't really like Clide(as a player obv.) that much but he is right. It's dirty cash.

PuMa betrayed those that helped him develop to what he is now.

I don't see a side there. I see Scoots vaguely pissing on TSL statements without offering an explanation himself. Sure he's with Alex working out a nice PR side to what they did.

To be fair the last time people were mocked for "conspiracy bullshit" with regards to EG they were actually correct about their conspiracy.

How is it even a conspiracy when we are basing it off the only facts we have? It's talbuk and co. who are putting on 'the theatrics and conspiracy bullshit' claiming that there are facts we dont know which put EG in the right here..

i'm not claiming there are more facts, im as clueless as all of us, but one fact remains, and that is we are all clueless, wait and rest until we get some more hard facts.

I agree. It could have been different also, like "Hey man, you are good. If you ever want to leave your team give us a call." Then Puma sits around, thinks, and says "Hmm...maybe they can..", he gives them a call and says "What can you give me?"

It could have totally been something casual like this. I think until more details come out, everyone needs to settle down some.
We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery, we need humanity. More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost. -Charlie Chaplin
