That being said, it is absolutely awesome that a player as good as PUMA is joining a foreigner team! Not only EG will benefit from it, but it also opens doors to a more dynamic trade of players between korea and abroad
Who the FUCK are you? You don't even know Scoots or Garfield's names. You are pathetic and ignorant. Get informed at least before you slander somebody on a forum.

Damn unexpected. I hope PuMa keeps owning though, regardless of which team he is on.

A little funfact: TSL was the first sc2 pro team to pay salary to their players
I think TSL was just the first pro Korean team to pay their players a salary because if I remember correct when that news was announced Sir Scoots said on Weapon of Choice or Live on Three that he had been paying his players for a while.

I'm not sure why TSL is blaming EG? TSL obviously was not "meeting PuMa's needs". Or he would not have left.

Fucking hell. Firstly, this is horrible press for foreign teams. Absolutely shitty. Secondly, going behind management? Dodgy at best. Thirdly, Puma, I know money is great, but you just got 50k USD, and at the very least you could, y'know, wait until your contract expired?
Goddammit, what the hell is wrong with having a little professionalism in SC2? Everything this man just wrote. EG must be one of the most unprofessional teams there is. And I'm pretty sure that Puma will get bored when Incontrol, Idra and machine are "hitting the gym" - While Puma acctualy wants to improve in sc2. Yes, because SC 2 players literally practice so much they can't do anything ever not involved with SC 2. If you used your brain you would understand that what I ment is that Puma is used to practice SO much more then the rest of those guys, and I don't think it will be fitting at all for Puma. Unless Puma played broodwar (I've no idea) as a pro in Korea I'd assume he's never practiced as much as Idra consistently in the same atmosphere. No need to use insults so aggressively kiddo. Puma's a top-rated BW player, man.
This is huge...damn.

He was on the same team as Idra for a while. ^^

What the F***? Puma wins NASL then quits his team to join EG? NANI!?

He did play Brood War and he was known as the best terran (and in general) practice partner in Korea for a long period of time.He was regarded as the best practice partner.

yay, korean coach having a cry.
expected tears. no sympathy from me, it's up to the player what he wants to do in the end.

It's just that PuMa is setting a precedent for other Koreans to come over to foreign teams and make more money, and if more Korean players start coming over then next thing you know they are dominating the foreign scene AND the Korean scene, taking all of the money from foreign players, and effectively making it harder to support yourself as a pro gamer in the west. So I guess what I am saying is that I feel like this might discourage some foreign players from pursuing a career in SC2, which is not good for the foreign scene overall.
Not exactly setting a precedent, MC and Nada representing SK in foreign events, PhoeNix in Reign, HwangSin in ItsGosu, Rain in Fnatic, I'm sure that I'm forgetting some but Koreans getting offers from foreign teams isn't new.

Most of you will go back home and forget about it in 2 days. Stop whining and being shocked. Americans are known for this. I think this is a great move by SirScoots or whoever is in charge in the business way.
I see how this makes sense by the following
1.You have your main star and he needs competition and training. Who do you get? Someone known as a monster practice partner and a winner. Incontrol, Demuslim, machine are tier 2 in EG at the moment, you need someone you can show to sponsors as a winner.
2. SK, fail as it might be, gets 2 Koreans so market value and acceptability for getting Koreans (technically foreigners here) is a good move as it's cheaper to get them now before other teams start waking up.
3. Idra is not known for his manners or pleasing personality. Incontrol needs to polish his talk a bit (even though Incontrol is <3) who do you project as a complete player? A Korean. MC is another aggressive personality so you pick another one available as a winner. MMA is slayers and with jessica being aggressive on the legal front that leaves puma.
4. FXO acquired a team quite well, TLAF is doing ok but not posting any wins except for HuK. So getting a star is better than running a team and sending them to tournies to lose. So they pick one guy, his travel, pay and results will all be very good ROI for EG (and most probably cheaper).
Brilliant move. I see win everywhere.

Lol the amount of emotion you're putting into this move is comical. It's not really a big deal and not having players under contract is naive, if you dont have the money to pay them then someone else will.

I feel very sad for coach Lee. I adore EG, but I think lately that they are like football club Real Madrid. They get very good players, and they allow them too much "non-sense" aka free time so they are just loosing their skill. I hope iNkontrol, IdrA and Machine(those three only have chances from EG in my opinion to even do something,.. but if I am honest only IdrA can compete on level with other top players, and still IdrA has gf now, he can't focus 200% on training) will do something in Anaheim to revive their glorious days.
EG.Puma is crazy and my dreams are coming true. e-Sports worldwide. It is happening.

I wonder if FXOboss is getting any ideas right about now. I mean he bought himself a whole team but among the ex-fOu players only sC and maybe Leenock are at the level of Puma.

Well, lost all respect for EG, even though my opinion doesn't matter ;P

I go to play a game, nothing big has happened all day on TL, nothing too exciting.
I play my game, my game of nooby Phantom. It lasts a mere 30 minutes. Tab back out, sipping my cold glass of milk. I read the thread titles, one by one.
My cursor dances across the screen, my eyes follow intently, finally, I see it. "Puma released from TSL, joins EG."
A stream of milk explodes from my mouth, and my clothing now has a dairy flavor.
In all seriousness though, I'm starting to see a trend of Koreans joining foreign teams, after all, the foreign world has the most momentum in SC2. It's true that GSL was the first large tournament for SC2, the thing is the foreign world is exploding in a huge way, Koreans are coming, and in force. For one, the presence of Puma on EG is good for their team in general, so that is a factor. EG is on the right track, gaming house, train together and get some heavyweights to sponsor and train. FXO has the right idea with their team house and excessive training. This is the kind of drive and effort required now, the Naniwas and Thorzains are soon going to be rewarded for their work by being able to survive the coming influx of hard working players.
In short, I am excited, we have a chance to make StarCraft a level playing field between Foreigners and Koreans. This is going to be interesting at the very least!

Puma was one of the most requested practice partners in BW and all killed ACE for his like second debut I believe, something like that from his liquipedia
