In my opinion with the information given it is not very professional. This goes for any situation. Since TSL doesn't appear to have the corporate backing necessary to make better offers. I can understand wanting to make more in your profession but the way it is described only hurts EG's reputation which is necessary to uphold since they depend on sponsors that want favorable reactions from fans. As for Puma it is a good move because he will have more financial support. If he moves to the U.S. he may also inject a more rigorous training style into the other members improving the team as a whole. I hope that happens so they can get better and compete in team leagues. I am looking forward to an official statement from EG on the matter. Until then, with the info with I have. EG is in the wrong professionally but not strategically.

They make it sound like the world is a terrible plague that "stole the life" from their player. Wish him the best and move on. And why are people pissed at EG? They just got a powerhouse player, be happy. Congrats EG, he will add alot of strength to your lineup. oh and will he be living in the team house? Picture you were the coach. Your young player goes overseas to compete in an event. He comes back and tells you he wants/thinking to leave the team for a foreign team. I imagine you would be outraged.

If you feel like Puma was stolen, try paying him what he's worth. Also make a team where good players actually want to play. Seriously, nobody wants to stay on your team. Love, kisses, and giggles, Fruit Dealer, Trickster, Puma, Rain and Proko. P.S. Sangho will probably leave soon too.

Its also against the rules in professional football (soccer to you guys over the pond) but it still happens, pretty much every summer there's at least one transfer scandal over a big name player being 'tapped-up' (that's the term used for it) and shit all gets done about it. My point is it happens, usually behind closed doors only to bve revealed much later, but it does. And there is no centrally established body governing SC2 e-sports (sinething like Fifa, but maybe a bit less corrupt and more effective..) to provide or enforce such rules. If Puma was under contract and a term in his contract has been breached then TSL have a case, if there was no such clause then they don't and if, as some have said, he didn't have a written and legal contract at all the TSL have no-one but themselves to blame for this situation. edit: On July 21 2011 22:48 Yettyman wrote: You make it sound like it is okay for it to happen since other people do it. I'm not saying its okay or that its good, I'm just saying that it happens and I don't understand why people seem to be losing their shit over something which is common practise. Does it suck? Yes. Should things work better than this? Yes also, but that it does is just a sad reality.

If there was foul play by EG here, I mean actual legal breaches of contract, TSL would be talking about it. Instead they're just acting mad about losing another player.

This is not Kumbaya-happy-lovey time for all SC players. This is a war to get your team noticed, to get paid, and your sponsors the results they demand.

As long as Puma was under contract with TSL, EG should've contacted them for permission to approach the player. I guess this is the problem with not having proper governing bodies in place to regulate this sort of behaviour. So what's going to happen to Puma now? I assume he'll move out of the TSL house but where does he go? I'm sure he'll still have practice partners on bnet but I would not be shocked if some of the TSL players gave him the cold shoulder. Except, it's not illegal, and only because there's an overseeing body in soccer did something happen in the Chelsea-Ashley Cole affair. There is no FIFA in SC2 to fine players/teams involved in tapping up. Either way, there'll never be enough public information to actually come an accurate conclusion about the incident. All we can do is guess. On July 21 2011 22:42 GreEny K wrote: Actually, if you are a contracted player in the MLG, NFL or NBA you are not allowed to do that... It is breaking rules. I'll assume you mean MLS(though probably MLB). But you do know in the MLS players are owned by the MLS, not the team, right? So it's not even close to the same thing. I believe in the MLB it's also the same, along with the NFL and NBA. Then again, they also have associations that overseer them, there is no association that oversees SC2 Esports, like there is in BW(KESPA).

Puma said he talked about his coach about it, and OFCOURSE the coach doesn't want to loose his top player, but this is a simple un-contracted player choosing to sign up for a team...x.X;

If Puma had some contractual obligation then he would need to negotiate out of the contract. What is it with management acting as if they own their employees? That is not how it operates in America at all. You know professional sport teams? That's how esport should be...

Not hating eg, but just putting it in perspective. Interesting to hear if/when both sides of the story come out not just the team losing a player.
