At least EG didn't do something completely lukewarm and hire Puma to 'represent' them the way SK did with their Koreans.

Cheers to them for taking a big step to blurring the lines Koreans/Foreigners and trying to make the best team possible regardless of nationality.

Still really curious how their team house is going to work though.

If they were smart, they'd throw some money at a coach that can run a house in the Korean style.

At least SK made an arrangement with the team management rather than just steal players behind everyone's back.

Yes ofc, MC and Nada still belong to oGs it is just that they will now fly out to a lot more foreign tournaments and in those they will represent SK and not oGs, but in korea they will represent oGs. That was made completely with team management.

Puma's burned his bridges, so let's hope he gets what he needs out of this.

To be honest, if puma just had to tell his manager he wanted to leave in order to leave, maybe korean teams should consider better contracts?

seems to be legally right but morally wrong...

but having said that, morally wrong is my own assumption. there are probably internal problems that outsiders like you and me do not know about, so lets be kinder in our comments and let everybody have a benefit of doubt.

I feel bad for PuMa having burned bridges with his Korean practice partners. EG doesn't really have a good practice environment at the moment. I also have to agree with Clide here that it's dirty money. Say what you will about whether or not it's right to do but it was definitely not respectful.

why should they ask the team or the manager, that would completly go against EGs wish to sign a new player...

do you believe if someone wants lionel messi in his team they go and talk to barcelona first haha

Things like this is why an unified organization is needed to govern player transfers with rules and parameters set. There is a reason why UEFA/FIFA, NBA, NFL etc exist along with the respective sport teams. It has to be international of course which makes it trickier.

Korean teams need to learn to have better contracts and realise that in no international sport do teams talk to other teams about obtaining new players/members. Im glad puma is signed by EG as we get to see him more often which is awesome .

I just hope Puma gets into a good practicing environment. Maybe he can move into a different teamhouse to be a practice partner over there?

At least Puma has more chances to play and get exposure instead of staying in the frozen hell that is Code B.

Hell, if it weren't for Gom sending MMA and BoxeR and DRG to MLG, we could never see them leaving code B either.

I'm not sure whether I like foreign teams taking the easy way out and just buying all the top Koreans instead of investing on their own players.

Well guess it's a step closer to real sports for e-sports.

Sick move from EG regardless! However does this mean that we won't see Puma in invidual GSL either or?

I agree, the foreign teams need to take it a step further and buy out Korean coaches as well!

That he did. Now they have to adjust for GSTL yet again which hurts them. I guess it was effective immediately his leave.

I think the whole point is to make everyone better and have everyone as good as Idra is now or better so it makes sense.

Yeah, and Idra was supposed to do the same thing, remember?

And now hes loses quite a bit against foreign players.

Losing to MC, Zenio, Sen and MMA, god those guys just suck dont they. The definition of foreign mediocrity.

And i cant believe how many people are jumping to conclusions before hearing EG side of the story, And seeing as it is 4 in the morning here on the west coast and this came out at about midnight, EG is obviously going to wait at least tell morning to make an official statement.

Do you know anything about International soccer? You don't do crap in terms of getting a big name player without contacting the organization - or you burn all bridges in the future. That is not something you can afford to do since players transfer all the time. In SC that is not a big issue as players don't switch all that often in the foreign scene. However, it doesn't change the fact that it's really sleazy - and coming from EG, an organization with many outspoken members that talk crap about this kind of dealing - it's even sleazier. I love incontrol, but I have never been an EG fan - this changes nothing.

Very sleezy by EG. I hope all works out for Puma, EG, and TSL, but I don't see this helping Starcraft II, especially considering now that Koreans are generalizing and pointing the finger at the Western culture, explicating IT to be the problem, refusing to understand it themselves. Schisms are bad, and I think the thought process that went behind this was to link the two together. How ironic.
