Good luck to slayers team!! awesome initiative to hire a progamer that happens to be female.
imo having different male and female tournaments or events on every sport is a form of segregation. why have 100m women and 100m men? why have men's soccer and women's soccer world championship? are women (or men) a second class citizen that needs a different championship? next thing you know we will have black man's basketball and white man's basketball. it is the exact same thing and if you disagree you dont understand what segregation means. this is a new thing, that takes society centuries back. they should stop making gender specific events, it is an insult to the society and human rights. *ofcourse if it is a private event they got every right, but for smth sanctioned by nations or international organizations like the women's world cup taking place now it is a big mistake and imo they are spitting on the face of their citizens)

So without ever seeing any game of her, you come to the conclusion that she's gonna do poorly? Nice one Shes in diamond league and is an attractive female, I think its a fair assumption to make, especially given esports history and females relation to it. I.E there terrible players and are hired as eye candy.
Theres a reason the majority of sc2 progamers are socially awkward teenagers, because often that kind of isolation and the resulting mentality is necessary to actually sit down for the entire day every day for the conceivable future, all in the vague hopes of getting good enough to go somewhere. And even that somewhere is actually extremely low pay, only the very tops make good cash in Korea.

Nice one I love how one out of the ten posts he's made on TL is basically wasted on bashing a progamer he's never seen play just because she's omfg, female and therefore she must be horrible. Oh, misogyny, how refreshing.
EDIT: Oh, sorry. Two out of eleven posts.

And here we have it. The most uneducated and completely nonsensical response to a NON ISSUE we have had in this thread so far. Also, you have slept through biology because you have no understanding of the fact that men and women ARE different when it comes to physical attributes.
Men are physically stronger, that's just biology. Human rights and society have nothing to do with out biology.

I wasn't aware that being nervous on stage in front of hundreds if not thousands of people meant they were socially awkward.
Also, as others have pointed out, there was a certain BW player that was hired as eye candy and ended up doing pretty well for himself. + Show Spoiler +

They hired BECAUSE she is female. She didn't happen to be female, she is a terrible player who was pick because she is sexually attractive to males.
Also the following paragraph is just disgustingly ignorant.

Oh well this is just how it goes, when people suggest Tossgirl retire [she makes no money and wins no games] there called sexist as well, I dont understand the ridiculous backlash but I do expect it.

From Milkis' Twitter:
OrangeMilkis Wooju Lee She won a female only tournament held in YMBC in Afreeca... her opponents were said to be in silver league.
This makes me sad, but I think it explains a lot. QQ
[EDIT] Also, thanks to Caliber <3

FlawlessKalu was in NA GM league Terran. Saw her on ST Rainbow's stream, it was a 40 min TvT on Shakuras. She lost when Rainbow tech switched to battlecruiser.

Here's an idea. Let's watch her play in GSTL BEFORE judging her by making assumptions on skill level based on gender. Not even white knighting; just saving people time.

She won't EVER play, so your point is pretty moot.

Some girl join a pro gaming team and get shit on, I totally see how this game will stay male dominance for a while.

Would be 1,000,000x cooler if she, uh, was actually any good.
Will be happy to eat my words if she's secretly a GM or whatever. First off, she's diamond, not gold. Secondly, what's the big deal about her being an MMA fan? Damn near everyone likes MMA, and I doubt he had much of any influence at all in the team's decision. Thirdly, you have zero proof that she was brought on purely for sex appeal just because cosmetics are important to Korean culture. Finally, ladder rank =/= skill. The only known account she has has only 100 games played, and she's only played one incredibly minor tournament. You can't call whether she's good or bad simply because we've never fucking seen her play.
I'm comfortable saying she's bad if she's, at best, a diamond league player. Diamond leaguers are poop on a stick compared to 3rd tier pro gamers.
And the only evidence of any kind that I've seen pins her as a gold league player famous for beating a handful of silver leaguers in a girls-only tournament.
I'm not angry that she's a girl. I'm just pointing out that as far as any evidence we can find so far leads us to believe, she is insultingly bad at this game compared to what you would expect in a pro gamer.

I wish her well and hope she doesn't end up tossgirl ... something tells me if Boxer recruited her then she has skills.

so we should separate everyone that is different is your point??? i never said women are not different from men, believe me i know. and by different what do you mean? they got a different genome? cause i am pretty sure there are women who can break all my bones with 1 hand. am i superior to them in physical attributes? make your case instead of just sounding stupid. specify where they are different and then we can see if it is ok to segregate different people.

Women in esports is a good thing. I hope she does well and is well received by the community and fans of sc2
