Keep the mindless hate from this thread. A well argued post is fine, frothing-at-the-mouth hate is not. |

I understand small hiccups here and there, audio too loud or too quiet for a small time, maybe some delayed camera switches or awkward interviews, but NASL has gone far beyond this. Bad observers, terrible audio quality, microphone problems every time they change who is talking, tiny booths, 2 hour delays, poor player cameras, bad caster microphones, incredibly shaky main stage cam, terrible lighting, a bland background, ridiculously long intros...
It doesn't take a professional to make sure the above doesn't happen.
and how the hell do you know that? You really think that when its sounds easy it really is easy??
They fixed the observing and the audio is much better then at the beginning (still too low). The player cam is perfect (looks like they are telling a ghost story because its so dark in there) and they are constanty improving. Please come down from the high horse

NAFL..Go figure what it means. All the people defending them, talking about potential blah blah ,community should support them derp derp..when someone organizes a tournament attended by international players from across the world and more importantly watched by viewers from across the world and moreover is a paid subscription model you expect atleast the smallest bit of professionalism. Sure its the first time they are doing it..Lets cut them some slack..No sound?sure people can wait even though they paid..Will it be fixed soon?People are crying allover the chat..Fix maybe?No..Not until a couple of hours into the matches is it fixed.Do they not listen to their own streams and read the chat or do they not know how to fix their own sound systems?
Cameras..Was the cameraman drunk?Sure its their first time...Lets watch a shaky screen..cut them some slack.
Ingame observing.I dont give a shit how new you are to live events. You do this week in and week out during the weekly playoffs. You do not put it on autocamera during a live game!!!you follow the events of both the players.Took them about 5 games to figure it out.No health Bars? Its ok..Can you alteast select the units during fights so we can see the Hp?Nope
Interviews were so awkward with the translator standing 10 feet away without a mike the first time and the second time the mike was dead..Anna did a good job,but Im scared to ask whether if she was a last minute addition coz maybe they "forgot".
The list of mistakes endless..The beginning of the event was a total train wreck..No other way to put it.As much as i hate to say it Day 9 saved the day and it stabilized to a certain extent later on.Hopefully it will stay that way until the Emperor shows and then nothing else matters. The crowd too was dead to a certain extent..but maybe Im just spoiled by the MLG Coolumbus experience, but the endless delays and technical difficulties must have got to them and I dont blame them.Unless there are some really fucking epic games over the next 2 days and no more fuck ups from our "Bronze League" Event Organizers this event is a total failure.
Im over this..Gogo Mlg Anaheim show em how its done

be super cool if the left channel worked

wasn't morrow a zerg player? did he switch to terran again or what?

NASL had problems at the start and they addressed them and improved. Now people don't seem to be able to see that this live event is like starting all over again. Its their first live event and there will be mistakes.
Maybe every1 has forgotten how bad MLG dallas was and MLG has a huuuuuuge amount of experience in events like this compared to NASL. This one seems perfectly decent, not amazing but ok, about what I expected, maybe people should lower expectaions and just enjoy it for what it is, and the season 2 finals will hopefull be better, much like collumbus was better then dallas.
It wasn't $25 for this, that cost included the hundreds of games of the regular season you could watch.

The MLG dont have HD they have HQ, which most people complain about being only as good as 360. It was also only free because they were unable to process the payments and couldnt afford more bad publisity after dalls-where btw there was no HQ at all.
People are fast to try and crap all over something. If you don't like it don't watch it, or maybe you enjoy it now and watch as it improves. Rome wasn't built in a day.

as a german i feel really depressed - its a shame looks like they are hardly prepared.
Next time ask Khaldor for help

any word on fixing the projectors? its horrible to watch this. out of focus and none of them show the whole screen
|
More pics please!
Agree - intros are waaaaay too long
|
All I know is that at the venue this is going really well. They had a projecter go out so go figure the only problem I can see atm is that the projection is too big for the screens, you cannot see the mini map or the food supply but I am willing to bet that tomorrow this will be a non issue. Really well done from a live spectators view.

Suddently everyone on the NASL thread are talking about HoN ? What is going on ?

They said that they will start streaming HoN. So NASL isn't a starcraft leauge anymore, but multiple games.

seriously don't know what everyone is complaining about. sound issues aren't really much of a problem, and the volume has been fixed for a long time now. The free stream runs perfectly, no lag at all and look pretty decent as well. The cameras aren't amazing, but if you're seriously pissed off at what happens between games then i think you may be watching for the wrong reasons. The player intros are a bit long, but well made, and it's not like other tournaments go from game to game immediately, at least we have a interesting video to watch instead of just people talking for 10 minutes or random shots of the crowd. Honestly the only thing that actually detracts from the the experience is a) the delay at the beggining b) get artosis to do the interviews c) obs could be better, perfectly watchable as it is already thougj
All in all im getting what i expected. Good games, good casters, am some ramshackle stuff in between. Perfect? no. Does it warrant all this complaining? Absolutely not.
If you feel it's not worth you money that's fine, but so are lots of other things, crappy movies you watch in the cinema etc. It's really only 10 bucks, and at the end of the day you're still getting great games over 3 days. It's a steal really

Really well done from a live spectators view. charging money for an event when such basic issues as not having projectors or sound set up properly is a real slap in the face imo. if they cant get things like that right then what do i gain by spending money for such sub-par performances? i'm trying to be polite here but this is really, really amateur. i've set up events bigger than this with a handful of volunteers in the middle of the woods and we never had such glaring issues as this event is having.

Those are the worst fucking booths i've ever seen.
|
The casters are still very very very quiet. :| I want to show this final to friends... but $25 to get more than 360p? Volume issues still not addressed? It's STILL favoring the right speaker? Either I'm spoiled by MLG and Dreamhack, or NASL isn't even trying.

on another note, i don't think ive seen a higher quality video stream than the NASL stream.

audio issues are serious and problematic. I cant believe an event as prestigious as this has such poor production value.
