Because some users are angry about the title anyways here are some new possibilities for a title
+ Show Spoiler +HuK: The tournament is pretty cool HuK: "It´s always nice to post results" HuK: The pressure is coming from myself
We from fragster.de interviewed the DreamHack-winner and Team Liquid players HuK about the DreamHack and his feelings considering HSC 3.He is also explaining why he lost a lot of money at the DH after show party. As a last point we are talking about the balance with HuK.
complete interview
Here are some impressions:
Do you felt like a lot of pressure was falling down from your shoulders when you won DreamHack? That your practice finally paied off?
HuK: Yeah, it's really nice to post results when you work so hard as a pro-gamer. When you put in a lot of work and you know you lose the tournament anyways it is really disappointing. It's not like a normal job, where you can go back to the job tomorrow and you still get the same paid check or the same result to the same praise. So it's always nice to post results. And yeah I fell like I can kinda relaxe a little bit more and i'll be so pressured to do well. Not that I won't keep working as hard as I has been or even harder, but I think as far as nervs count, I will be less nervous on events to do well.
Sounds fun. How did you like the tournament here? I think you didn't experience something like this before?
HuK: It's pretty cool. It's really laid back. We have amazing people making amazing food, a lot of the stuff, who are really nice. I wish I wasn't sick. Not beeing sick would be a lot more fun, but I like it. It's a good chance, you know, to have something like this and kinda relax for a few days while playing a tournament.
Lately the protoss seem to dominating the scene a bit. What are the reasons for that? What did you think?
HuK: It depends what scene you are looking at. But right now, in this tournament like 8 of 16 in the playoffs were protoss, I think a lot of protoss player in Europe or North America are better right now than the other races. If you look at Korea protoss is not good at all. Might be a lot of the style things that the terran and zerg players haven't adapted well enough yet. I'm not really sure, I don't think protoss is op. That's what you asking.

Edit: I'm an idiot, good interview. Interview title is very misleading though, I thought it'd be something about expenses being greater than the prize money or w/e.
|
|
The title of this thread is not accurate. He lost some of his money playing blackjack, he did not lose money from Dreamhack.
|
sry, forgot to link the interview at the bottom :>
|
Huk is a programmer? Haha, funny little misspelling :b
|
This interview title is very misleading...
|
What a horribly misleading thread and interview title in order to get views. People who do this kind of thing should be at least warned if not banned...

don´t know where you read from in the headline? the only thing standing is "losing money at DreamHack"

i am really sad to see that you are so angry about the headline, but in the german community noboday said anything against it :<
it is one of a ton of interviews and with reading the teaser you know everything about the interview. I don´t know where it is so missleading? It is only a fun quote from the interview and i thought everybody here will understand it as well :<

Your headline is purposefully implying that something at the DreamHack tournament caused Huk to lose money. Not that he lost money enjoying himself at an afterparty. You even have "at dreamhack" as part of a direct quote, which it isn't.
|
I don't like the title of the thread, it's misleading.
not like he lost money "during the event or by playing starcraft at dreamhack"
he spent money playing blackjack and buying drinks for him and his friends, that's not losing money doing nothing.
|
Agreeing with the above, the title infers that he lost out by like travel costs vs prize reward, like IdrA at gamescom last year breaking even. Not that he went out partying and lost it at black jack etc.
|
hmm it´s kinda strange that it is making so many rumors only because the headline. I don´t have a problem if an admin is changing the title. The only thing i wanted to bring you nearer is the interview with some interesting answers from HuK.
I am really sorry if you are disappointed or anything like this :<
|
lol. the haypro answer was pretty funny.
|
The title is intentionally misleading in order to get more views....
|
lol can you kids stop bitching about the thread title.
I read it and it i knew immediately he wasn't complaining about the cost of going to dreamhack or staying there. If a interview title says something like this it should make you want to find out how and what. Its not implying anything else.....
haters gonna hate.
Nice interview btw
|
But guys i see your point, i forgot to think about the problem that i don´t have something like a real teaser text here. On our normal homepage you can see the interview with some text before you click on it.
So as i said before, i am really sorry if i missleaded someone of you, but everybody makes mistakes.
As far as an admin is reading all that he may change the title.
For example to: HuK: The tournament is pretty cool or: HuK: "Don´t think Protoss is op"

The title leads me to believe that Huk lost the money by dropping it, or someone stole money from him.
|
if you´d all read what i have written above you may understand my point. I just forgot to think about that you can´t see the teaser-text everybody else does see before reading it on our website. I don´t know why you are attemping to be so angry. I did anything to change it, but without an admin i can´t change the title.

Before you come to our website you are gonna read all this here and you don´t come to our website by only clicking on the thread and the thread explains why he lost the money, so i don´t think i get some add revenues for you clicking on a Team Liquid thread.
I hope and admin will change this title fast, because it´s really uncomfortable getting flames over flames when one makes a mistake after hours and hours of coverage for an cup. And guys i am not working for any money, i am just doing this for fun and for the community, but as i see, everybody is only thinking of maximating clicks and flameing around about little mistakes...
If you don´t like the interview don´t click it. Thought it could interest you, but when it does not, than don´t read it...
|
Thought this would be about travel expenses being more than the prize money, not him blowing some cash at blackjack, very misleading.
Interesting to get his views on protoss though, especially difference between Korea and EU/NA.

there are some impressions and a teaser with the most important topics here on this thread. If somebody is not interested in these topics, the person has not to click the link to our website or?

While I don't really care if interviewers have controversial titles to get more views, I don't agree with doing it with a link to your website to read the entire interview. I clicked to see why HuK lost so much money in DH, and I found that he lost money by partying = just feels like I wasted my time...

I'm obviously interested about reading an interview with DH winner HuK and was under one impression based off of the thread title only to find out that it was misleading the quote in your title is not even an actual huk quote after reading the interview. I'd just figure that an interviewer (you) could actually reel-in readers by delivering an interview with the "hottest" player on the scene at the moment simply by asking good solid questions and not using deception =).

Pretty much every serious newspaper does this nowadays. Good to know that you want an online gaming site to have higher standards. Just let it go...

Thanks for the misleading title...

Silliest excerpt for a title ever - the sort where it pisses people off because it's misleading. I would have clicked on the link anyway because it's a Huk interview and i'm curious about it.

Come on man. A good interview tainted by a horribly misleading title. You should know better.

Please guys, before you flame the headline anymore, i explained anything above and i am waiting for an administrator to change it :<
I only wanted to bring you an interesting interview with HuK, nothing more :/

HomeStoryCup for example. Also some other major LAN Tournaments (UGC won by HasuObs, Medion Challenge won by HasuObs, Copenhagen Games won by MC, ...)

dont worry about it. I mean it's not like it said, "Huk is very very sick! Oh noes!"
come on guys give the guy a break, we've grown up with CNN and by god they are far worse!
|
m0s1n0, the title is clearly misleading. Why not call it "Fragster.de Interview with Liquid'Huk"
Otherwise, Thanks for posting the interview. It was a nice read.
|
The headline reminds me of tabloid press.
The interview itself is fine, good job. Although it could be a tad longer, though Huk was probably short on time.
|
Yes yes, the title is misleading, every single one of you has been kind enough to point it out. Now instead of arguing for 10 more pages about how super serious of an offense this is, how about just getting back to discussing the interview itself?
|
Thanks for anybody defending me, but i see i made a mistake, but the problem is that i can´t change it right now. I also put it in the thread, hopefully an admin will change the title
I only want you to enjoy the interview, which is about the 15th we did on the HSC3 and we also did more than 300 pictures and so on, so don´t be angry we all make mistakes, especially when someone is working many hours voluntarily to make a good coverge
@Fasterfood: I think the people are more attracted in reading a quote of the interview than something like "fragster.de interviews Liquid`HuK"
|
Thanks for providing free coverage for us, it was a nice read. Homestory Cup's coverage has been absolutely amazing so far.

how much money did he lose :O

three pages with almost no feedback on the content, just whining about the horrors of misleading titles.
good to hear that huk feels more comfortable around tournaments now. i'm looking forward to some huk GSL domination!

Agree with HuK totally!
And that tournament is super sweet, feels like it has brought several new sides from some progamers that we haven't seen before.

Well aren't you just a bag of joy?
Personally, I knew from the title it had to be some gambling or something non-SC2 related, probably due to HomeStory Cups spycam of the poker table.
I still don't like people putting something controversial in the title and not having that section in the thread preview however. Feels like I'm being treated like an idiot with a carrot on a stick. I never go to the links when people do that.
|
Why do you look at HayprO?
HuK: I am just joking. I don't know.
Huge Mancrush. LoL I bet he never looks at MC that way!

LOL
What is it with interview threads and sensationalistic titles?
|
|
it was the administrator changing it to "Protoss is op" so don´t blame me guys. He had also the possibility to choose the other headline i posted. Don´t know where your problem is again.
Feeling kinda depressed that you feel so angry about every title we take oO These are all things HuK said, there is no balance discussion because of this...
|
good interview haypro is hilarious btw
|
I know you already said people are "angry" but it doesn't make sense in general to have a title like that because it obviously tries to bring in extra viewers, and also it just seems strange when they say it's not OP. Someone saying a race IS OP would be much more relevant to include in the title.
Regardless, why not change it to "HSC Winner Interview" I was going to check the results when I saw this thread and I was disappointed because I like checking one at a time to make it a bit more exciting. Either way, it's not a big deal for me, but the point is your title is a spoiler...

Dont think he means in the world, he just means in the scene of each realm..
US server doesnt really have much strong terrans outside of Select.. but it has a ton of good Protoss and zergs.. EU is the same, while it has more terrans than US, theres so many strong protoss from EU such as Naniwa Hasuobs Sase Tod Grubby etc etc.
Compared to Korea, where theres a mountain full of amazing terrans and zergs like Losira, DRG and Nestea at the very top..
Also keep in mind, when we're talking about top players playing in foreigner tournaments lately, MC is at all of them while Nestea and MVP dont go. So the results of these tournaments are somewhat skewed, when the best protoss in the world is there and we only get to see the 3rd/4th best T and Z like Bomber and Losira (arguably) ..
|
from tournament results i have to say this
terran - EU and Korea has the best ones and NA has select?? (a korean)
protoss - EU has the most where as NA and korea has a few..
zerg - Korea has great zerg players and a few good ones in EU and just idrA mostly winning as zerg in NA
does anyone else want to add or comment?

Fast expanding and still having a bigger army? Are you sure he wasn't a terran?
I understand it's for journalistic purposes, but why are we rehashing the same old tired themes for months? The only people who think Protoss is op are the bads (and maybe idrA). The way people talk though, Protoss winrate could be in the gutter and you'd still here 'protoss OP'
This isn't a game problem, it's a 'the way people think' problem.
Btw, wasn't really a Huk fan for most of the last year, but he's kind of growing on me.
