They're going to have to have a hell of an incentive for me to pay that much for team league. Sure, it's close to the same price (twice the length twice the price) but $20 is a case of lager, $40 is a new video game. Silly, I know, but increasing the price and duration only limits the amount of customers you can have.

Maybe I'm just complaining because I don't want to spend the extra initial money.

I don't see how they can justify that price.

In some ways I feel that this increase in price is due to the FXO being there as well as Thorzain and naniwa playing, kind of milking the foreign scene lol?

They're milking it by charging us less. THOSE BASTARDS.

THe price seems ok to me, but what I'd really love is a subscription option or a 3 month all GSL-Ticket or whatever.

You will pay $5 for 4 days of play, but $25 for 25 days play is too much?

Hey would you look at that, a dollar a day. before you were paying $1.25.

the problem with this is you still only get 1 finals and 2 quarter finals for 25$ and before you got the same amount of finals and quarter finals for 5$. dollar per game value its better, but not all games are equal. overall id consider it worse.

i probably wont be paying for this either even though ive paid for about 3/4 of the gsl events in the past. while i consider gsl the best tournament the other tournaments are catching up too much for a cost this high at this point.

Seems reasonable to me, GOM has the highest quality starcraft content out there. Compared to other productions no matter how much quantity they have its all about quality for me, and the quality of the GSL is leaps and bounds above any other tournament out there.

I think that I would also be more willing to pay if they would offer a browser-based stream. I am seriously tired of the gom player.

So an I right in thinking that the GSL and the GSTL are going to be running at the same time?

I agree. Curently it's 7 GSL seasons + Super + 3(?) GSTLs = $155 plus whatever they charge for Korea vs World next year and Blizzard Cup.

If they offered a whole-year subscription at $120 they'd probably get more revenue overall (from people not skipping purchases if they're busy) and it would really help to click once and then just enjoy the matches for a year.

Remember this isn't paying for the prize pool, this is just paying for the existence of the English stream. The Korean VODs are free (with ads) I believe.

It's expensive to watch GSL. I'm not the biggest fan of GSTL, so I won't buy it and try to catch the good games live. And buy only the Standard Seasons.

That would be a really cool idea, probably rope more people in because of the discounted prices and even reward the people who continue to follow them!

with the addition of GSTL instead of paying two separate amounts I'd rather just pay like $15/month or something for GSTL and GSL and whatever other events occur.

Thorzain said he wouldn't be playing for F.United, maybe for some Korean team though.. He's going over there in any case, so should be fun!

I don't mind paying for the GSL, and I still think the $ per game ratio is pretty good. However, they would be better served having an auto-renewed monthly subscription, much like that of the NFL, and other online sportsstreams.

At the end of the day, no one is forcing anyone to buy these subscriptions, so if you do not like the prize of one tournament, watch it live or don't bother, or go watch a different one instead! There, I just solved the internet

I dunno, I've really been turned off by non-elimination tournaments since NASL went for 9 weeks and no one got eliminated. It just got tiring and boring. I think part of the charm of GSTL was that it was a week long and it was packed with great games and it was amazing. Spreading it out just kind of dilutes it. Sure the games will be good regardless, but taking away the tension of the games kinda makes it less edge of your seat, with so much SC2 content already from the GSL and other leagues, I'm not sure I really see $25 value here when GSTL used to be $5 in what I believe was a better format. To each their own I suppose.

yea NASL where you have to pay again for the finals, duh :p

I don't know if I'll be the GSTL ticket because I might have less time than during the year to catch up with everything so I'll just stick with the GSL one...
