Consider yourself lucky you get to watch MC at MLG and he accepted the opportunity. MC has accomplished more in Starcraft 2 than any single player there. He's probably just going for the fans, he plays in the Stars War tournament soon and that's a bigger prize pool, and he is going to be absolutely exhausted having go to Shanghai almost right after MLG. He could just sit in Korea practicing PvP all day for a much better chance to win $8500 without jetlag. Lol at pretending that MLG is something amazing and that Koreans were just falling all over each other to get sent there.

MLG could be something pretty amazing, the fan base is much different and energetic than what I've seen at GSL. Plus a lot of people are excited to go watch, I think you're discounting this as fan service as if the fans don't really add anything. Hoping this goes overwhelming awesome and that Koreans start really wanting to go to MLG. Wish I could've seen Idra's face when he found out MC got Bomber's place.

If I were a conspiracy theory guy (which I'm not) this whole situation seems like an elaborate ploy by the heads of the GSL to troll IdrA. If I remember from his interview correctly, one of the reasons he left Korea was the fact that there were a lot of pretty lucrative tournaments over here that were free from code S GSL competitors. Looks like GSL won't let the Gracken off that easy...

This has made MLG Columbus so much more interesting now, even though it would of been nice to see Bomber play, I think it will be even nicer to see MC play in another foreign tournament. Everyone going as a spectator is super lucky as well to meet the God of War in person. Wish I was going!

Hence why I said he did it for the fans. The actual tournament itself isn't extremely prestigious for MC. I think he's probably one of few Koreans who could actually even communicate with the people attending in the first place. While interaction with the fans is great the guy I quoted was acting as if MC was given some great gift instead of the people being given one. Fans exist because of the work of players, players exist independent of fans even if they're a nice inspiration.

Also, Idra imbalance rant incoming after his match with MC!! ![]() edit: or epic BM after gg'ing. facepalm. 1.) MC is 7-1 against July and a much higher seed, plus the only reason JulyZerg is attending was completely independent from the GSL-MLG exchange program. There is absolutely no reason that July deserves Bomber's spot more than Bomber's replacement. I seriously have no idea why foreigners seem to dislike MC so much that they think people like Bomber and July deserve more than him. 2.) IdrA would never complain or BM about MC. He's one of the few players I can't imagine him being mad he lost to. The idea that he rants or BMs every single person who ever beats him is so ridiculous, I'm not sure if it comes from a bunch of Husky worshippers or what.

He was pretty angry after losing to MC at Dreamhack, he 6pooled the second set in frustration even though he nearly won the first.

Players cheese when they think they can't beat the other player straight up in that given situation. IdrA rages when he gets beaten by randoms on the ladder, or people like Drewbie or Minigun who have no accomplishments close to that of IdrA's. Sure he thinks Protoss is OP and probably would be mad if he loses to MC, but MC has far more prestige then IdrA himself does, even if he is using the so called imbalanced race. Which is funny because Zergs have beaten destroying Protoss left and right lately.
