Im talking about 30-40 mins downtime between games, casters being on breaks while some of the biggest games in the tournament are being played and not shown, the casters not seeming to know what they are meant to be doing and when, half the time the casters are on they were sitting chatting or just looking confused. Hopefully a lot of lessons will have been learnt, and the stream will be well worth it, but i want to see evidence of that before i have to put up money. please dont compare a tournament with 8 players with one with 200+ players.

Probably not. Might buy the one after this one depending on how good the stream is for this one though.

I can't believe there are people in here actually defending MLG and trying to convince us to buy a ticket. Some people never learn. I especially like the ones that claim Dallas was the first time they had problems and that since they're saying everything is going to be great now, it will be! That's what they said about Dallas in the first place.
GET REAL!

I'll be there in person so no HD pass required
|
I will if I get a job by then, LOL!!
However, f i do end up buying and HD pass and they have anything remotely similar happen like with MLGDallas then I probably won't ever buy another HD pass.

MLG have had MULTIPLE events with shitty shitty streams and shitty scheduling for which games are going to be on stream, IF they run 2-3 events in a row without stream problems I will start buying passes.

... were you expecting sundance to personally come to your house and say sorry?
He apologized profusely and refunded all of the customers. Then he added a second SC2 stream... brought in some Koreans.... AND TASTOSIS!
what the heck is your definition of "something" man?
to topic though... I'll def check the free streams... if its smooth sailings I'll buy next time for sure

So getting koreans to come to their event, having the fan favorite casting archon come to cast, as well as having 2 SC2 streams along with completely hiring a new streaming team is nothing? Jeez, how self entitled or ignorant can you be. Assuming they fixed everything is pretty ignorant as well. Don't pay for something you can't try before you buy, IMO. I won't be paying for an event until they have one run smoothly.
Where did I say that I'm assuming everything is going to go perfectly, your reading comprehension fails miserably.
He was complaining that MLG did nothing for the non paying customers, and I just pointed out that that's blatantly false they've done so much stuff for Columbus for everybody including the non paying viewers.
I completely understand not wanting to risk the super small amount of 10$ on the tournament if you want to wait and see whether or not everything is smooth on the first day. That's logical, but to say that you won't think of buying their product because they haven't done anything for the non-paying customers? That doesn't even make sense, MLG has put in tons of effort into trying to get everything they can for them. The only thing they don't get compared to the people who purchased the HD pass is a DVR feature and a their stream quality is worse.

I got the free pass since I bought one for Dallas. But, I also believe in second chances. If they fuck up Columbus like they did Dallas then I'm not going to be buying from them again. That said, I think MLG is making a serious effort to offer a great product. Two streams and Tastosis? That's pretty friggin' awesome. Now all they have to do is execute the event cleanly.

Yeah my bad, I assumed your reply was also trying to counter the fact that MLG has had nothing but problems. It is stupid to say that the free users deserve anything more than the free stream.
Regardless, all of the crap they've added to Columbus doesn't make their history of failure disappear, it'll just make continuing failure that much more painful. With any luck they actually put on a good production.

I won't but not just cause of the tech delays, with all these events, it will literally be too costly to watch sc2 so I don't want to encourage this anymore. GSL is enough for me.

Not sure if I'll be home for the weekend. If yes, then I will consider it

The last event was a venue problem, with it beign in a city with no strong enough upload connection to feed to as many veiwers as they did, which shouldn't be a problem in columbus not to mention...Tastosis are going to be here, no guarantees for future events. You'll want to see Tastosis in clear crisp makeup after all
Please stop acting like Dallas was the only event they've had problems.
Every single MLG event featuring SC2 has been plagued with delays, poor stream quality or just random freezes and crashing.

never had the money to buy a pass but As I've done sence Halo3 I will watch every hour of it.

well I get one for free so... why not just give it another shot eh;)
|
I will buy a pass, for the first time.
I will probably also stay up the entire night so I can "enjoy" my money. BUT, if I have to do something that weekend. I will not buy the pass, so I am buying the pass solely for my own pleasure. duh.

The only SC2 content I pay for is GSL, which I buy for the VODs because i can't watch the live stream at 5am. The HD stream I get to watch on Saturday's when it's on at 2am is just a bonus for me. I don't care enough about HD to pay for it.

not really convenient id probably rather want to spend my weekend playing and watch the stream while i eat
