After the last MLG it can easily be agreed that the MLG Dallas experience for spectators was less than stellar.
Since then the MLG staff have seemed to endeavour to make sure a repeat of Dallas won't occur again, by getting feedback from the community and have realised that to win back some of the spectators they lost or let down they have to go above and beyond and strive to make vast improvements for the upcoming Columbus event. This is a feat that through announcements they are delivering, we won't know about how successful the event will have been until it occurs ^_^
A recap of announcements if you've missed some:
- Addition of 4 korean players (Slayers_MMA, FoxMoon, ST_bomber and IMLosira) to pool play
- Teaming up with the GSl for exchange program. Players coming over and conversely non-korean players who place will gain a place in the GSL.

Personally I got the free pass from having purchased the dallas pass, and am curious to see how many people will buy / hold off this time. Also I end up buying almost every major tournament available, GSL's, NASL, MLG, Blizzcon so despite the failure I would have ended up buying anyway. Even though MLG had its problems last event it seemed like the crew did their best given the circumstances (staying up all night, trying to fix things, responding to criticism's and it seems to have been a good learning experience for them.

I bought a pass for Dallas so I'm set 
I don't even care if Dallas didn't do so hot cause I've been with MLG way before SC2 was introduced into the pro-circuit so I know that this sort of thing doesn't happen often. Sucks though that I decided to buy HD Pass for the worst streamed event, but with how things are looking for Columbus (Koreans + Tastetosis), it was much worth my $10.

I would, but the internet at my house right now sucks so I can't watch HD streams without lag. I would if I had a better connection though.

I'll consider it as the date gets closer. These newest sets of announcements (especially the double stream) have nearly swayed my vote... plus Tastosis... that's a pretty winning combination. It really depends on my work schedule that weekend and how much of a social life I plan to have.

Just curious, what happened to the spectators? They felt bored or felt like they didn't have a lot of privileges or what? I'm hoping to catch MLG Anaheim, and it's my first gamer convention ever, so I don't know what to expect.

I won't buy anything from MLG after all of the problems they've had at Dallas and all of the other SC2 tournaments they've held. Maybe if they did something for the people who didn't pay as well then maybe I would care and become a customer.

Its at some unviewable hour of the day so I wont be able to watch this. GG. Maybe I would pay for a pass if they offered hd vods as fast as gsl though.. As in within a few hours.

I just remember last year they also promised to improve the stream, there was still huge delays and low quality. I will wait to see if it runs smooth and on time, then buy =)

not until they can prove they can maintain a quality stream for the duration of a tournament
they have a history of non successiveness, not just at dallas

Live you mean? I think that there was just not enough games shown on the main stage, and because of lack of soundproof booths they would only hear the commentators before and after the games because the players were able to hear everything the commentators were saying. Only thing I am aware of, someone wrote a blog about his MLG Dallas experience but I can't find it.
The soundproofing issue should be rectified though because they've purchased booths for future events!

It's usually $10 dollars (I say usually incase they change it :p but it's always been $10 in the past)

So getting koreans to come to their event, having the fan favorite casting archon come to cast, as well as having 2 SC2 streams along with completely hiring a new streaming team is nothing? Jeez, how self entitled or ignorant can you be.

If it is only $10 I probably will seeing as every weekend there is a MLG not close to me I have a bunch of people and we play games watch starcraft and eat pizza. Sadly last time we left to go watch a movie since the stream was so fucking broken -.- . After hearing how hard sundance worked to get to the stream up last time, I will blindly believe this stream will be godlike. The main reason I get the HD pass for MLG is I put it up on my TV, looks way better in HD that way. Plus I have the money to support e-sports and I do it every chance I get. Nice poll bro!
