Wow those are some big names coming from Korea!! I'm sure people will complain and say "Why isn't NesTea MC, MVP or MKP coming!?" but seriously... those 4 that are coming are really cool names to see at MLG. I am excited!

The one thing I am wondering about is how many players will pass on the opportunity to go to Korea. It may very well be worth it to try it out and all, but simply playing in Code A may not be all too appealing for many players with all the other NA/EU tournaments.

This is fucking huge, like...massive. Holy shit, unreal!

GSL offering up Code A and Code S spots + covering travel &accomodation for players.
MLG offering up seeded spots in pool play + covering travel & accomodation for players.

I fucking love you guys.

Correct. MLG pays travel and accommodations for GSL Pro's and seeds them into Championship Pool Play.

GSL pays travel and accommodations for MLG top finishers and Code A/Code S placement.

Credit where due, that means a month in Korea playing in a GSL tournament.

Hmmm MLG has a better side of this deal. They only need to provide travel & accomodation for a weekend ;P

So will the GSL still happen once every two months, alternating with GSTL or various other stuff (like the Super tournament)?
Because if it is, then there might be up to 8 seeds into the GSL in a single tournament, since there are months where MLG will happen monthly.

I think he's playing in CSN tournament, so might be here on his own. But yea.... he's on my list :D

Do you guys plan on having translators on hand so the fans can speak to the korean pro gamers?

I'm sure they do. If not there will be people there who are fluent in both, Selects English is impeccable, although he'll be too busy pwning face.

This is some really amazing news. I'm literally so excited for MLG Columbus now, and for all future GSL's and MLG events. The lineup of Korean players is also really good. Its not the very top players (I was pretty surprised MC isn't there considering how much travelling he's been doing) but Bomber, Losira and MMA are definitely all at least Ro16 and probably all Ro8 material in code S.

Two questions that hopefully someone can answer.

Where are they finding these spaces for the 4 Koreans? Currently each championship bracket group has 4 players from the top 16 and 1 from the open bracket. Are you just turning the championship bracket into a 24 person bracket or are you changing the system (hopefully you get rid of the guaranteed top 20 finish for the current top 16 it really stops the championship bracket being the 20 best players).

Also if one of the Koreans gets into the top 16 (not unlikely), will they be coming back next event as a seed along with 4 other Koreans, or will they take up 1 of the slots?

Wow, I mean just Wow!

Didn't think the finances for flying in and out players was there yet.

This is truly a historic moment for SC2. Two major tournaments bridging the gap between Korea and the foreigners. I am really proud to see this, and MLG yourself a new customer! Great Job keep it up!

So Jinro/Huk/Haypro could travel back the U.S. place really well in an MLG and get back into CodeS/A without having to do the Code A/B grindy grind?

Outstanding news, can't wait to see this. The more integration between leagues the better. Seeing these players at live events will be awesome.

Poor Huk though, had to work that hard at GSL when he could have just won an MLG hahaha (which he has done in the past)

uhm, HuK got a free invite to GSL.

Are you saying Chris didn't have to work hard to get into Code S? I don't think you've been watching the same tournament as everyone else.

Keep up the good work Chris, we're cheering for ya.

More on-topic, this MLG/GSL business is amazing.

He got a free place in Code A is what he meant. Yes, he had to play to get to Code S, but he didn't have to work as hard as people like Jinro or Idra to get into the GSL as a whole in the first place who had to go through lots of qualifiers/etc.

I know what he meant, he's been to the same qualifiers and has been practicing for months to earn/keep his spot in Code S. I don't believe he deserves to be called out like that. Hes been working equally as hard as Jinro/IdrA in my opinion if not harder, the results have just been more prominent as of late.

It just struck me as odd to single out HuK of all players when infact he's had the easiest way there of all players in current GSL.

Probably because hes the only one of the three who hadn't already been to Korea/in GSL prior to an MLG victory.
