Considering that MLG occurs over the weekend, it might not make a huge impact over GSL schedules besides jet lag.
great news though, hoping for great games

will be interesting to see who goes

will say a lot of about which team sponsors see value in SC2 e-sports and and are willing to expand beyond just South Korea

MLG Columbus payout structure certainly isn't good enough to risk the cost of flight & room and board
E-Sports is competitive video gaming with a spectator fan base. Do not take the word "Sports" literally.

By the time MLG columbus rolls around many of the koreans will already be eliminated from the super tournament. And you can bet there will be some top level players that get eliminated early (there are always upsets in every tournament). So there will likely be atleast a few top tier korean players.

This is exactly what i want. Koreans, Americans and Europeans without the lag factor (beyond that which Bnet kindly gives us by default).

So excited.

!!!!!!

More of this please.

Also i'm interested in how they all go in the MLG format. If we assume open bracket like Naniwa's win, then they have to go through a crazy amount of games to win, which is super awesome. GSL you don't get a hell of a lot of games, and the preparation factor is another neat difference between MLG and GSL which could be hugely important.

I really feel this is the optimal format for a big money SC2 event.

IM SO EXCITED TASTELESS.

I really, really hope that MLG will have the required infrastructure in place for their streaming this time. It's only going to be worse than the last with Korean participants. Please Sundance, account for enough viewers!

Finally we get to see Naniwa take on some Koreans :0

I really feel strongly that he may be headed to Korea soon. I hope this will draw some strong Korean players over. I'm not certain what to expect though, since it would cost more to come over than the reward for winning the tournament.

As much as I want to take credit for this fantastic scoop (which I originally thought I had), it's worth noting that Sundance DiGiovanni tweeted about this a week ago.

I had missed it, and I guess a lot of us had, but it was already out there for those who managed to catch it.

Twitter link: http://twitter.com/#!/MLG_Sundance/status/66466392462991360

He responds to someone asking about Korean players at Columbus in the link above.

Edit: I want to give credit to both Chobopeon and Adebisi for humbling me with this twitter link shortly after I posted the article.

Sundance later tweeted and confirmed Tastosis at Columbus and 4 special guests from Asia, Which i would assume the korean pro players.

My level of excitement depends on who it is... if they're top stars like MVP then this is great. If it's someone from Code A or something it'll still be great but be less exciting IMO...we have NASL if we want to see middle-tier Koreans play foreigners.
