CSN is sponsoring another Korean player's trip to MLG Columbus They visited 8 team houses (ST, IM, MVP, SlayerS, ZeNEX, PRIME, TSL and HoSeo) and had a tournament within the teams. It looks like the winners of the 8 CotH will fight for the spot. So far the winners of the CotH have been. 1. ST - July 2. IM - Junwi. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=222492EDIT: Made a mistake in the earlier post.. seems like it's just 8 fighting for 1 additional spot. Meaning there will be 4+1 Korean there? It is way to much shit going on, who can keep up. So this has really been known by people since the beginning of april, if you have followed the CSN stuff? I think the tournament section needs a new structure to be able to promote all the tournaments better. Now gold nuggets like this get eaten up by american college leauges and europen 100 dollar KoH etc.
No this hasn't been known by those following CSN up until today. CSN hosted the initial two tournaments in the ST and IM house without the general public knowing that the events that transpired there would lead to something bigger

LOL mlg is the shining star ? who said this ? certainly not the spectators that's for sure

Will be interesting to see what excuses the Korean fanboys drum up when half the Koreans don't make it out of the open bracket since "lol lag" will be off the table. Personally, I can't wait to see MC do one of his famous completely unsafe builds and lose to a random.

Chances are that if he attends (which he won't as it clashes with GSL) he will win the whole thing. Just like he did Copenhagen and Dreamhack. MC is undefeated in foreign LAN's.
If a team of say MC, MVP, MKP, Bomber, Nestea, July, Anypro and SC were to attend MLG as the Korean contingent there is almost no chance of a foreigner winning it.

I hope this is the announcement that was announced last night on SC center.

Ace-Moon-Squirtle came 1-2-3 in IEM so if Junwi went, he would have a good chance.

He was seeded, but I imagine it will be similar for whoever they are inviting (for the benefit of everyone I think) I hope Huk goes to MLG... unless he if doing well at the GSL super torney.
But did you not see how Huk looked last MLG, he was zombie-like in all the videos I saw of him, certainly couldn't have helped his play.

glad I ordered a ticket for it.

wow, those are fucking awesome invites

at least now we can hope to be able to see the matches live! :D that's a step in the right direction MLG, rock on! Yeah, it /looks/ like this could be the most solid stream outside of GSL. I scoured streamworks' website, as well as a bunch of Sundance tweets - the stream setup is very impressive: - Satellite link-up - Redundancy all over the place - 5 data centers via streamworks distributed worldwide - No Octoshape (haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, plus streamworks has their own Flash player, apparently)? I'm curious as to how much $$$ MLG is dropping on this setup. Looks crazy expensive.
Hey Guys,
Great to hear such enthusiasm for the Streamworks system. We are very much looking forward to covering the MLG Season, we're in a beautifully unique position of being devout eSports fans (I'm not just saying that! To those who don't know me I've shoutcasted lots of WCG CS & WC3 in the past) and broadcast professionals. Our goal is to deliver you the not only the best quality eSports streams you've seen but also the most stable experience you've had to date.
We achieve this in two ways, first of all as someone rightly pointed out there will be satellite uplink from the event to prevent any onsite internet issues and secondly Streamworks have a patented encoding technology. This technology creates the most bandwidth efficient streaming possible allowing you to experience better pictures for less bandwidth.
I hope you guys enjoy the show, we're very open to any feedback so will be checking back to see what you have to say.

Is streamworks a p2p streamer that eats users upload bandwidth just like octoshape?
|
Nope - no plugins/p2p etc, what you would call 'traditional' flash streaming.

Awesome! I was really disappointed with octoshape since I'm usually on the brink of going over my bandwidth every month.
