Q: What was your biggest defeat? A: Probably when I lost to Jinro in GSL Code S in January. It was my last GSL before I left Korea and I played really well. I felt I could beat him and reach the finals. Then we spawned in close positions twice, and I lost the 6 pool to a Marine with 5 hitpoints. That was a cruel way to lose.
Blah blabla :D. Never admitting he lost to the better man ^^.

cool the tossgirl thing was hilarious

Poor Tossgirl

I am by no means an idra fan, but I think that gsl ro8, idra was a better player than jinro, but was unlucky. 2 close position is rough, and jinro abused it.

He said it was sad to be knocked out by having 1 marine survive 1 extra zergling attack, not that Jinro didn't earn it.
don't be a douche.

a randomer 난초 (rank 27) is higher than the highest zerg oGsCezanne (29) probably because he play terran/protoss 2/3 of the time

He might've been a better player if you just dropped them down from the sky to start playing at a random point in time, but Jinro was crazy at preparing for a game. He'd study his opponent until he could perform a lubed rape... in starcraft...

The fact that oGsCezanne is the highest ranked Zerg should give you an indication of how many people actually ladder seriously in Korea.

Pretty sure that Idra is quite serious in his whines about the game's balance. What's annoying is that it rubs off on 80% of Zerg players in general, who just become martyrs and spend more time talking about how hard they have it rather than playing the game.

yeah, SC (1), SuperNova (5), Alive (7), MKP (8), Bomber (10), Keen (13), Polt(16), MC(20) are not serious player at all
also just notice that Gumiho(11) is now a terran, probably he got tired of playing zerg 1/3 of the time. Does wonder for his points though
and being top 200 in ladder is the only way you can participate in code B, so I would think that some people are taking it seriously

is there a vod of the idra vs tossgirl match? I wanna see how bad idra whipped her

Uh.. then ignore them?
Imbalances idra talks about are not the same as ladder imbalances. The game he plays is completely different from the ones platinums on ladder play.

I meant it in the sense that ladder ranking shouldn't be an indication of game balance. You don't think players like Nestea or Losira couldn't destroy the ladder if they wanted to? In Korea most good players are on a team/clan so custom games are better for practice.

Do you think all the top zergs just happen to "not take it seriously" while the top players of other races take it at least more seriously because they are certainly all doing better on ladder than the zergs? Now, balance isn't the only reason why zergs may not be performing as well, for instance most ladder maps are pretty terrible for zerg and the fact at least terran mirror matchup is less volatile than ZvZ, but it still raises some questions.

Why are people arguing with the Korean ladder when we know the following:
- There is A LOT of cheese on the Korean ladder and
- Blizzards maps and their close spawns / small size encourage you to cheese or allow it in the first place.
So IMO there is no point in trying to prove a point by the positions of the races on the ladder ... not until the close spawns and small maps are gone and Blizzard finally makes a decent mappool with "cheeseproof maps". Until that time we wont see Zerg at the top of that ladder due to the slow speed at which that race grows at the start of the match and which makes it impossible for Zerg to cheese (except for the sixpool probably and that is super risky against possible wall-ins).

Great interview. Gotta love IdrA. Or love to hate him, either way.

yes, when one race is very weak againts cheese/early all-in and the other two are not then something is probably is not right
the ladder ranking reflect that because most people will just cheese zerg in a one off ladder game and get the win
again, when there's one sure win strategy (quick rush/all-in) that work well againts a race on multiple level of gameplay (tourney/ladder/casual) then something probably is not right
