What exactly went down? He beat her by a thin margin or a brutal stomping? Did he say something extraordinarily mean[doesn't sound like IdrA would do that(?)]. Or something else completely unrelated?
no korean wanted to lose to a foreigner in bw. it was their sport/pride. they were way ahead of the foreigners, noone was even close to them. If you watch wcg, when the koreans played the foreigners they look like bronze level players playing against top masters. She just took it to heart and cried.
I like IdrA, he is so full of confidence and he can almost recall every single bit of details of the games he has played and truely and beating a korean at bw is an insane achievement.
But I think my biggest accomplishment was to finish in the top 8 of MLG Dallas 2011 with Zerg.
What a pathetic comment coming from a pro-gamer. He was clearly under-performing in Dallas but hey, lets blame it on the game (again).
You aren't an IdrA fan are you?
IdrA is the best thing that can happen to SC2 scene by far.His play and the character he is are great, people talk/flame/hate/love him.
He is a great player and yes he can blame balance as he plays Zerg. It's quite funny that on this site balance talk is almost taboo...
I still remember MC saying during GSL before one of his matches "i'm not worried my opponent is zerg" with a smile on his face.
Anyway fun interview as always with IdrA, he's so mean making a girl cry.
I must disagree, Idra has personaly stated that he dosen't like the game, and starcraft one is much better.
Ofcourse it's always a good thing to have a guy who everyone loves to hate, but sometimes the personal attacks from Idra goes too far.
MC is a perfect example of what Idra should try to be, a person with a strong personality, strong opinions, but respect enough for other people to not throw them around for no other reason than to damage them.
Thanks for translating this inteview Idra is a very talentd player and seems like a smart guy, so I wonder when he will grow up. I mean, he is somthing like 21, isn't he? It's time to stop for a moment and introspect.

NesTea even said "Zerg is sad". Best zerg in the world saying zerg sucks. Not to mention if you didn't read SlayerS Min's interview, he says in Korea zerg is seen as terrible and that any zerg who can win consistently gets a lot more respect than tjheir protoss and terran counterparts.
If you think there's a lot of whining in the foreigner scene, check out Korea's.
MC says protoss is weak, mvp says terran is weak. Do you see a pattern?
Its well known that race-specfic players have an inherent bias that precludes them from making clear absolute judgements about which race is under or overpowered.
There is a reason why Blizzard employees must play random.

Yep ... its absolutely done by a translation software or by someone with only rudimentary knowledge in english and who didnt proofread it afterwards.
Guys.... you cant quite know the orignial answers from Idra, cause they were never published... so how do you know that the translation is bad? Makes me wonder....

I am actually working for homerj.de and saw the english text we got from IdrA himself and which was never published in english. So sorry pal, but you cannot judge about the german translation since you never saw the real english source.
Artosis is to blame for his race choice. Blizzard for maps and "flaws in game design" (which only Greg considers faults) Other players for playing non-zerg races Other players being so bad that you can't read their strategy from their gameplay, because they do random allins. Tossgirl for having fragile feelings and crying
I think he's going to mature in a couple more years though
1. How did you get into the eSport / Gaming Scene and what were you reasons and motivations?
A friend introduced me to StarCraft1 when I was 12, I played it casually for a long time and slowly became more interested in it. I eventually stumbled onto teamliquid.net while looking for StarCraft websites and found out about progaming and esports. That made me a lot more serious about the game, I started practicing more and playing with the intent of getting really good and started to climb the ladder of non Korean players and teams.
2. Why do you play Zerg and your very macro heavy playstyle?
I play zerg because Artosis is an asshole and convinced me that zerg would be the best race. Also they suit my style pretty well.
3. What were your greatest victories or tournament take downs?
Winning King of the Beta over tester was pretty awesome given that most people considered him the best player in the world at the time and it was nice to come away with that title. Then winning MLG DC, the first international individual lan I went to, and my first sc2 tournament back in America, was really nice. But I think my biggest achievement so far is getting top 8 at MLG Dallas 2011 with zerg.
4. What was your biggest defeat?
Probably losing to Jinro in GSL Code S January. My last GSL before leaving Korea, I had been performing pretty well, and I definitely felt I could beat him and at least make the finals. And then we got close positions twice and I lost the 6 pool game to a 5 hp marine. It was a pretty awful way to go out.
5. What was the funniest moment in your SC2 career this far?
It was in SC1 but I don't think anything can top making tossgirl cry at ESWC.
6. How will eSports develop in the future and where do you see your place in it?
I think eSports is going to be huge, SC2 is already doing incredibly well and I can only see it growing. Americans have been a lot more accepting of an RTS than I expected a year ago. I see myself as a part of eSports for a very long time. I will stay a progamer as long as I feel im capable of producing acceptable results.
7. Do you have any advices for SC2 Newbies, how they can improove their skill?
Practice a ton and don't be creative. Start experimenting after you can execute stuff properly or you're always gonna be handicapped.
8. Last words?
I'd like to thank all my fans for their support and my team Evil Geniuses and our great sponsors, Intel, Steelseries, Monster Energy, Kingston HyperX, Six Pool Gaming, Intel Extreme Boards, Bigfoot Networks.

I don't think he'd be very good at protoss.
He was originally protoss back when he first started playing SC2.
However, he really hated pvp and felt that it didn't suit his strengths at all.
