LOLOLOL guys do you think Flash and the KeSPA guys are gonna switch to a game which is dying. Do you think God is gonna switch games just like that ? C'mon now game might die after 3-5years after the last expansion or something or maybe to some other RTS. I don't understand why do people compere LoL and Dota2 to SC2 ? Like lets say SC2 is really dying and nobody is watching it JUST because its the only game to carry the esport banner in RTS esport its gonna get picked for events.
Same reason why Counter-Strike 1.6 was alive so long its the best game from the genre and has solid EU fanbase so it was the king of the fps but when VALVE decides to put a new competitor and fund it really good thats when the game died. Not because it had low view count or no sponsors or no teams or absolutely no casuals but because we had "something better" which catches the eyes of the sponsors and unites the communities of 2 different games and its the better competitor because it has larger playerbase than the old game no matter how good the old one is but you have to remember that THE GAME NEEDS TO BE FROM THE SAME GENRE. Do you remember how BW "died", everybody and their brother from AoE1 to Halo Wars was playing SC2 and had larger player base than all those games ( and bw ) so the game just became the RTS king and the new starcraft.
My point is you should start worrying when a game with alot of budget behind it from the same genre and a game that unites communities like SC2,AoE,CoH,WAR,BW all those or some of the RTS players thats when you need to start screaming SC2 is dying.
Anyway sry for the bad english first and just keep calm and go play SC2.

Honestly. How can anyone side with Destiny on this debate? It's logically incomprehensible, the only reason would be because Incontrol and DJWheat acted like total dicks, which yes, they did. But that doesn't make them wrong.
I'm just gonna write this down in the most distilled way as possible (skimming through this thread's comments, people will already know what i'm saying, but i'm just writing this down because most don't seem to understand, ie reddit).
Firstly, Destiny is pointing out the obvious. He's saying that Blizzard fucked with SC2, and the game client. He did some thinking and realized to save sc2, Blizzard needs to fix these problems ( i'll get to the "sc2 is dying" stuff later).
so if we make a simple schematic, it goes like this.
Blizzard messed up SC2 ------> Blizzard should fix SC2
Now, for some reason, reddit seems to think what Destiny is saying is absolutely incredible. Holy shit. It's something people have been saying since day 1 of WoL.
What ITG is saying (though they said it in probably the most unproffesional way possible), is that they agree with Destiny, they just add something on to what Destiny is saying. It goes like this:
Blizzard messed up SC2 ------> Blizzard should fix SC2 -----> If Blizzard doesn't fix SC2, what can the community do to keep SC2 alive?
It's simply adding another step, Incontrol assumes that Blizzard aren't going to fix SC2 (because they haven't over the last two years), and, since as a community we can take action, we should, and we should find ways of expanding the game ourselves as audience and organizers, and not leave it up to Blizzard.
What's funny is that Destiny said he wasn't part of Catz's initiative, which would go like this:
Blizzard messed up SC2 ------> Blizzard should fix SC2 -----> Let's make sure Blizzard know how to fix SC2, (also a valid plan of action, dunno why Geoff was being such a dick about this one, it's quite possible that Blizzard devs were disconnected from what would grow SC2 in the long run)
Destiny is somehow stuck at the 2nd step and he's resigned himself to doom-saying, which is probably the worst plan of action out of all these. (Blizzard messed up SC2 ------> Blizzard should fix SC2 -----> QQ), "I don't think the situation is savable, I think it's fucked completely"
On the whole SC2 is dying thing. It is WAY too early to tell, if you're going off of the fact that some players are switching to LoL, then i'll remind you on the inherent flaws of extrapolation. You cannot predict the future. It is perfectly possible that SC2 just gets smaller. It doesn't die, it just gets smaller than at it's prime. You know how SC2 was the big boss of streamed games when it launched. Now it's got competitors, so it loses some of the market share, that's what's supposed to happen. I don't have a background in economics but I think this is a standard example of competition is it not? It doesn't mean that SC2 is going to spiral into obscurity. You can't just say, according to the fact that 5 players have left SC2, that SC2 will die before LotV, this is a fallacy.
Kind of back to the original topic, IF you want to see SC2 stream numbers increase or atleast remain stable in the face of increasing competition, what are you going to do? I hope it's clear why the ITG panelists have it right .. ( Or you know Catz's thing, but for the love of god, don't chose Destiny's non-plan as an answer) ( also, i'm also under the impression people don't care about trying to increase the stream numbers, and just like doom-saying for the drama, fuck you guys, you ruined screddit, the only thing I can use it for is to see when the new carbot animations are released)
So I woke up this morning and saw shit hit the fan over on reddit. Thought all day that I'd come home and watch it and be filled with the rage the redditors seemed to have. Instead, I found that Destiny choose to just ignore the argument these 3 were presenting and ramble on his own point. Really a pathetic argument by destiny. The entire debate was a landslide for the EG guys, and then wheats rant on the end pretty much wrapped it up perfectly.
