It might be too late for Idra's reputation. As the old saying goes: "people remember the bad more than they remember the good". Idra could save children from a burning building, but he'd still probably be more famous for his outbursts.

I've always thought Idra was a whiny little bitch... but this interview was very good and I have a new found respect for him. I'm not ready to sign up for his fan club or anything, but I thought it was a great read and find myself hoping he does well in the future.

The little tid bit in the actual post about the rage thing is very true.

After meeting Greg in person and seeing him play and interact with people, he is nothing like what people see him as currently.

He made a great quote awhile ago as well saying "If you dont get mad when you lose, then you dont care enough"

People need to reverse this internet generated personality that really isnt what hes like.

Well this is probably true.

Idra feels that the pro scene is too boring and bland, so he shows some emotion.

They get uploaded on YouTube and people give him a bad wrap because those are the games they see... Of course, there's also the thing where whenever someone on the ladder beats Idra they are going to post it up because they were largely the underdog.

Coming full circle, these are the games that most people want to see (of course there are people that want to see him win :D ) but yeah, I agree this is why they get put on YouTube... They are interesting and draw viewers. Can't really blame them :D

Edit: Hah, I should also add that this is a really good interview and certainly showcases a different side of Idra (or a progamer in general) that we normally don't get to see. I hope we get to see more interviews like this in the future.

Good to see him talk about his reputation a bit more. I respect that he is a straight shooter, opinionated and gets pissed, because it reminds me of my take on life. Keep calling people out when you get pissed IdrA, it gives me something to laugh about.
