I'd like you guys to find a way to minimize the sound of the casters clicking on their mice. Once you start noticing the clicking sounds it's hard to "unhear" them, and it REALLY gets on my nerves >=(

I think personally, you cant do an interesting cast, when you know the outcome of the match in advance. You cant fake excitement or the stress and anticipation of something epic happening. If you know going in that the match is a bore, or even exciting, you miss all the extra reactions from surprise.

Think Moletrap and the Nukes: You will NEVER get that from casting VODs. NEVER.

Casting is done live and the broadcast is delayed so they can edit it.

I'm not sure If I'm just misreading this or not, but they don't cast them off of VOD's. iNcontrol and Gretorp cast those matches live, we just don't get to watch it live. For instance Division 1 is played and casted on Mondays, but isn't streamed until Wednesdays. So there reactions are completely uninhibited from knowing the outcome of the match.

That's a great point...

...but it doesn't apply to the NASL.

When you come off as acting like a jerk towards your fellow caster, it makes you look very unprofessional and it really takes away from the NASL.

Guess you don't get sarcasm too well.

Anyways, Gretorp has got to stop making a joke about everything like that telekinesis thing. It's painful and I feel sorry for incontrol who has to think of something to respond with lol

Sarcasm? Are you fucking kidding me? Incontrol's "jokes" do not come off as sarcasm - he says things like "Gretorp, you're stupid", followed by a 5 second awkward silence, and then he'll say it again. Both of them need to go, there's soooooo many more talented commentators. Please get them the fuck out or I will not be buying a pass to next season.

InControl is just responding the way everyone is to some Gretorp's jokes: uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhnnnnnnnnn, WHAT?

It's better to acknowledge a failed joke than pretend it didn't happen, I say.

you should never do that as a caster it shows bad chemistry im finding the commentating and NASL overall sorta lackluster. I never knew incontrols commentating a ton b4 NASL but I was under the impression he was funnier and more entertaining. I think a commentator mix up might not hurt doesnt seem like the 2 are doing good together

Something that really bugs me is the overuse of the best player and I've seen Tastosis do the same thing.

Idra best zerg, sen one of the best zerg, and some random player best zerg, how many best player are there? Can't you just say pro player instead.

Not sure what exactly you are referring too but if you think the NASL isn't casted live then you are wrong. They cast the games live as they are happening and then take two days to edit it all together and stream it.

I just wanted to first say that the quality of everything has improved drastically. The camera work in particular is impeccable, especially with the use of the HUD removal during big battles. It is just good to see little things like that being worked on because they make a big difference.

On what needs to be improved, I would just say that I wish there was more stats or discussion of the previous matches each player has played at least in the league. I know it would be more work of course but it would be great if the night before each recording session the casters were given info sheets for each player and their previous matches. Specifically just a run down of how they have looked so far, close matches, overall record, and the build order they favor in each match up. I just feel like that would be a little extra work that could potentially tie people into the other weeks of the season and what is about to happen.

Also when it comes to the pregame, I think the idea of showing big chunks of past footage is kind of offputting at least if you watch the NASL often. I know there have been some great moments but maybe they could just put together a highlight reel from the last weeks division and talk a little bit about it. Just to kind of mix in a little of what happened last week without boring the regulars.

Thanks again, great production.

I stand corrected, if the games are cast live. Too bad they SOUND like casting from VODs. These guys just arent HYPED. You want Tastosis, you KNOW they love the game itself, and having a blast casting it. Same with Day9, same with others to a lesser degree. It sounds like a job for these guys, and it just aint workin.

I think NASL has improved a lot since the beginning, and it seems that they actually do listen to the community. I was really hating InControl since that "Clash of the Titans" fiasco, but he is really funny and likable and I've come to like him during his casts.

But there are still issues that need work.

Most notably, sounds.

Game sound levels need to be a little higher, and music quite a lot higher. See: GSL.

That is all.

I would like them to have stats and other information available to them, because when they try to recall results they're wrong some of the time.

Do you think I'm an idiot? It's not whether or not I can decipher it as sarcasm, it's whether it's good for the cast. Trust me, I'm aware that most of gretorp's humor is very... questionable. I'd certainly react the same way incontrol does to much of it in real life - look at him, look away, look back, look at the camera like "Is this guy for real?" But it's terrible for the cast. Chemistry between casters is so crucial. They should be saving each other at every opportunity, not looking to create awkward silences, even if the intent is to ultimately be humorous.

Additionally, NEVER talk about games being unexciting or being over. Talk about how dominating the winning player is instead.

I know its a forum cliche but watch Tastosis and their chemistry. They don't do any of this stuff and there's a reason they are so highly regarded.

One problem I have with the post-game interviews:

Obviously, one guy is responsible for interviewing, which is fine... but the other caster should not just sit there and completely ignore the interview in progress. Both Gretorp and incontrol do this.

Even if one caster controls a given interview, I think the other caster should at least throw in one question or interact in some way. He shouldn't just look down at his monitor and ignore what's going on. It seems awkward and even somewhat rude (though I realize that is not the intention).

I for one and am looking forward to Idra commentating this week. I think he will bring some crucial analyzing skills to the commentary, he's a smart mo-fo and he'll probably talk a little shit, but who cares, they know what they're getting into.

The matches and players NASL has are so solid, that if they found a crackin' commentating team and orgazined those effin' VODs, this thing would be a skyrocket to the moon.

The VODs are really choppy, and it makes the games hard to watch. They have been improving in other areas, so I hope they can fix this issue soon. It's a big one IMO.

I also wish they would stick to a standard for labeling videos, and that they would take out the long bit of filler before the pre-game show in the VODs or at least tell us how much time we need to skip.

Since they had a partnership setup with Justin.tv, it would be nice to see something more than just a standard list of videos.

Honestly, iNc and Gretorp get really hyped about the great games they cast (like Brat_Ok vs. Ace). The problem is the not so great games. It's like when Tasteosis had to cast Code A. They weren't excited at all. It's going to improve as the league develops.

haha It's because some of the stuff that come out of Gretorps mouth is completely ridiculous / borderline complete troll.. although he seems sincere.

Incontrol just has no response to something like that ... personally I think it's hilarious and a wonderful dynamic they have aquired from it.

Keep going brothers, you are excellent casters and compliment each other beautifully.

Wow, I love Gretorp+InControl. Probably my favorite casting duo (outside of Tastetosis, of course). Sure, InControl jumps on every mistake of Gretorp while Gretorp doesn't point out InControl's numerous screwups. That's what makes it great. It seems like a genuine friendship, with friendly jokes and insults when the games get boring. Not usual for a casting duo, and about as polar opposite from Day9/Husky as it can get, but for some reason it feels more genuine. This makes the excitement more genuine when a really epic game comes along.
