We talked about whether or not one might get a GM achievement if going into "limbo league" due to inactivity. I tested it on my SEA account and did not get any achievement for league final standings. Cheers. | ||

I didn't get my diamond achievement for this season either (was plat at 2nd season), so I think it is due to a bug, I think no one got it =/ | ||

I started playing mid S2, placed plat, at the end was playing vs high diamonds and low masters, then summer came and work prevented me from taking part in most of S3, I decided to wait for S4 to start before going at it again, getting my mechanics back up to where they were vs AI - S4 started yesterday and it says I now have to complete 5 placement matches, as opposed to the usual 1 - does that mean all my progress got reset? In short: Didnt play a single game in S3, placement matches got reset to 5, did my MMR reset as well? | ||

Example: Placed in diamond season 2, no history during season 3(not even placement), back in season 4 you have five placement matches to do again. True/False? I'll test it with my spare account, which was Diamond(/Platinum, kinda) Season 3 and I won't place in a league during season 4. | ||

I updated the OP last night to include data on seasons and rollovers, and that information about missing a season is included. | ||

Is there any way to tell what tier your division is in? At this time, no. We would need a LOT of data to determine division tiers at this time, and even then we wouldn't even be 100% sure. We only know about tiers because of diamond league once being the highest league. We would compare the top 100 from Blizzard with ladder points and determine that some people were ranked X points higher than their ladder points suggested. | ||

I know some who were active during winter 2010-2011 (season 1) and had their MMR was reset when they came back during season 3. But there are also some whom I have talked that claim they had last played during season 1 and when they recently came back had only to play 1 placement. If you haven't played your initial 5 placement matches to get placed in the system, then you still have to play any remaining initial placement matches in later seasons. For example, if you played 4 placement matches in Season 1, then didn't play at all in Season 2, then in Season 3 you would need to play 1 more placement match. If you played 3 in Season 1 and none in Season 2, then in Season 3 you would need to play 2 more placement matches. Is this what you meant? Are you sure that those players had no activity in a given team or game type over an entire season had to play only one placement match to get that team or game type placed in the most recent season? | ||

You need to check this information indeed, as people do either lie for random reasons or remember things wrong more often than they like to admit, so you can't take what people say as correct till checked. =/ | ||

I was master player in the season 2, didn't play any ladder 1v1 in season 3. In season 4 I got placed back in masters after one placement match only. | ||
