I mean idra knows he can make more money in the USA or he wouldn't have left Korea, so this NASL should be huge.

So the big announcement isn't a North American Starcraft League but rather that iNcontroL has a badass new picture of himself? I approve.

Massive conflict of interest. get the full story before you say such silly comments how do you know hes even running it?

More legit Starleagues that have high-level players playing up to GSL standards makes me very happy. I wonder what the relationship will be between NASL and GSL. Rivalry could help grow both.

But, really, when you put "NASL" at the end of the podcast and it has to do with StarCraft, how in the name of all that is balanced do you not automatically hone in on the "SL" part and say "Star League?" That's pretty much the only thing that can stand for in StarCraft. And, if it doesn't, that's just some hardcore trolling, my friends. Also, love the iNcontroL art. Saved. P.S. I feel, like koonst said, that we have hype within hype (I'll refrain from actually writing it out and just put one thing: Xzibit).

the only beef I have with this is that NASL sounds too similar to nasal. ![]()

Massive conflict of interest. Nobody said he's going to run anything, yet. It's an announcement. For all we know he's casting it. Or helping production. Or setting up the porta-crappers. Or is just being the outlet to develop hype for something.

Massive conflict of interest. Except it would be like a player on the packers owning the NFL. And also this isn't the NFL. And we don't know who is going to be doing or owning anything yet.

I'm curious about the size and format of the new tournament, will it actually rival GSL with its 100k prizepool / season and 6 seasons / year ?! I mean idra knows he can make more money in the USA or he wouldn't have left Korea, so this NASL should be huge. Inc did say that it was the biggest thing outside of the GSL, so I wouldn't expect the prize pool to be quite on the same level.

G4 is the closest thing to Korea's OneGameNet and MBC Game that America has. Even if SC2 isn't absolutely dominating South Korea, the prospect of the foreign scene blowing up to a level where a North American league is possible creates a very worthy sense of excitement. Personally I hope it ISN'T on G4, while they say it is the "gaming" network I don't feel that anymore. Spike or Syfy would be a better fit, but honestly if it is an NA league, I would hope it would just be a livestream similar to GSL On a different note PLEASE be an NA league, that would be so badass!

I don't necessarily, but if it's "inControl announcement" then he is at least involved in the creation. Do you think if it was some company like G4 or Spike hosting it they would let someone from one of the teams who are going to be competing announce that it exists? Normally the person in charge of an event does the press releases, not some random guy on the internet. Furthermore, even if it's one of the other State of the Game guys organizing it. Don't they all (other than day[9]) have team affiliations? Edit: To guy saying it worked out fine when some Korean team did it. Great, this isn't Korea. The esports scene isn't big in North America yet. If you really want it to get big in North America you are going to have people trying to compare it to the other organizations in North America.

Massive conflict of interest. It's doesn't matter at all. How is that different from Liquid' playing in TSL, Root playing in Root Invitatonal or heck even from MBC Hero playing in MSL -_- Anyway I hope this is indeed a big tournament :D Really excited for this !
