Now i dont work for blizzard or anything like that, but i can tell you without a doubt that they will NOT be giving you a second account for free. This is for account merging, which will still require you to BUY a second account. This is getting out of hand, people are stating in other threads that blizzards just kinda giving them a second account. No, they are not. Actually these guys are talking about new character, not a new account.

Holy nitpick Batman! Who pissed in your Cheerio's? On topic, I'm genuinely curious to see what a Blue has to say about this. I am not into the speculation of what it COULD be, I just wanna know for sure!!

(will it share the achievements and available portraits of 1st character or not?) For example, I play terran, maybe i will use my 2nd character to play toss, in which case I want to use Zeratul's portrait. Will I be forced to finish all campaign achievements to get it or will I have it as result to my current unlocked portraits?

With the wow merging its just like 2 completely seperate copies of the game, the only thing thats the same is the id that you log on with. Id assume itd be the same, also if 2 different people (i.e. kids under a parents email) have a copy then they would need to be seperate.

We don't even know if they are actually implementing this.

Maybe still too specific, undocumented changes fits more this kind of stuff. On topic, Im pretty sure we wont get a new char or anuthing for free, if they are intending on giving us some offracing option for the ladder, i dont think it will be something like a new char, it will be something like how it works for team games, where you can have more than one, but i dont think they wont people to smurf on new chars.

My main acct: had a character on 1.2.0 ptr. Downloaded 1.2.1, the 1.2 ptr character was there under sc-1; sc-2 allowed the creation of a new character. My other account: (under different battle.net email) did not have a 1.2 ptr character IS UNABLE TO PLAY 1.2.1 - says SC2 is not registered to the battle.net account. Also, multiple WoW accounts on the same battle.net account created this similar "game-1, game-2" log in options. My guess is this is an issue with the PTR trying to create a new character for you while still having your old ptr character on file. This is probably a saved setting in games that use battle.net 2.0 (as I'm able to disable the option - see edit 2) edit: second account does NOT get the 1-2 option under current server after downloading and attempting to log in to PTR. EDIT 2: after "remembering account" on the ptr for my second account, then switching to live and logging back in with my main acct I DO NOT HAVE SC-1 / SC-2 option (I assume I would if i tried to log in on the ptr with my main again). EDIT 3: apparently i'm the only one who is unable to make a 1.2.1 ptr character with an account that did not have a 1.2 ptr character...

They actually spent time and money (with a relatively small SC2 Dev Team) to develop this. I think it's simply the same interface/design used in WoW. Probably didn't even realize they copied it over with the PTR.
