I'm assuming that you won't give invites to players like HuK and SeleCT who are IN korea to try to qualify normally. I'd suggest qxc, Fenix, White-RA, Dimaga. Maybe some of the other players who've had success at other tournaments, like MorroW, Naama, or KiWiKaKi.

Can we not discuss stupid options like Grubby or Tyler? Grubby isn't good enough and Tyler can't go to Korea.

One spot should go to HuK. He is currently top 10 in the Korean ladder. Very beastly Protoss.

Guys, stop suggesting players who you like but don't stand a good chance at getting into Code S. Pick the best of the best, so we can at least have some more foreigners in the GSL.

This shouldn't be some popularity contest based on how amicable a player is. (Like iNcontrol -- yeah, he's a funny guy but the foreigner scene has far better players than him).

I'd suggest HuK, Select, possibly qxc, Naama, and Whitera. They're extremely skilled, have taken wins lately, and actually could make it to Code S.

QXC, Dimaga, Sjow, Fenix and NaNiWa/WhiteRa have shown very solid/consistent play in tournament and dominance in their region. A lot of people are naming players who haven't accomplished much...

For those already in Korea such as Huk, Haypro, and Select, do they even need to be invited? They also have a very high chance of qualifying into Code A due to their current stay in Korea. Strong Players who have previously said they would not go to Korea, may now have an incentive to go if they are invited.

Trying to choose people that I think might be able to make the trip to Korea--or I haven't heard them say they won't go to Korea . . .

BratOK--One of the best Terrans out there, complete with massive Star1 street cred

Socke--One of the best SC2 Protoss, complete with War3 progaming experience. Good spectator draw thanks to his tendency to make strange plays

HuK--Basically, HuK did not make it into Code A on his own simply because he didn't have more than one shot. Given another GSL Preliminary qualifier, he had a very strong chance of making at least Code A, if not S. He deserves another chance

qxc--Almost certainly the best American Terran. In spite of becoming known with the advent of Star2, he plays like a Star1 hero and seems to have the potential to be one of the best players in the world

Before this thread takes off further, I think it will be wise for individuals to to suggest players that are capable of S class status and have expressed a desire to compete in the GSL. Many players suggested so far have either real life commitments or commitments to tournaments in February.

Thanks to GomTV for doing this as well.

HuK - Already in Korea practicing with TL and oGs. If he's practicing with people in GSL already in Code S and A then he deserves a shot in my opinion. In MLG, one of the biggest tournaments in NA, he placed first, third, and ninth(?) in all three tournaments. He placed third in the American IEM and first in one of EG's master cups.

mOOnGLaDe - Great Zerg player from Australia. Easily one of the best players in the SEA region, if not the best. He's done great in plenty of tournaments. On that new FXO team too.

KiWiKaKi - Protoss player on ROOT from Canada(?). Done well in MLG finishing second, fourth, and eleventh in the three tournaments in 2010.

QXC - Terran player from NA. Also on ROOT. Did well in three MLG's placing ninth, ninth and thirteenth in the three tournaments in 2010. Has done a lot of showmatches and tournaments and consistently one of the best Terrans around.

Those would be my 4 picks.

Life is Good.

Grubby doesn't even play Starcraft 2 full time yet...

I was thinking more along the lines of people who would stay in Korea for more than a day(unlike KiwiKaki). And realistically Grubby will have EG helping him out as well as connections with people like Moon and Lyn so his skill level could rise fairly fast. I mean obviously I would prefer if someone like qxc or Dimaga got the invite but I really don't know if they could stay in Korea for more than one season.

Sen and TLO were supposed to qualify for the Code A tiebreakers based on points I believe. I don't know if they are already in the GSL Feb though, so if not, definitely them.

HuK would be the obvious choice, as well as EGIncontrol, Kiwikaki, Select and any others that came close to qualifying in season 3.

I don't think oGsTheStC has participated in the GSL yet, and if he is available, he should be given a shot.

Sure everyone want Huk to get into Code S, but if he got what it takes he will get there eventually regardless. This is a great oppertunity to get some new players who got the Code S potential who would othervise not go to Korea.

Let's get more foreigners to Korea!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

You need to hold an open tournament for players interested in going to Korea, or invite based on tournament wins. A popularity contest could never be fair.

Should invite prospects who are interested and hold a tournament. Final 4 of the tournament receive the honors.
