Why does Husky get all the credit for these music videos when all he does is appear in them looking awkward and posting the vids on his channel? I mean people are lavishing praise on him and him alone while ignoring the actual people involved in the composing, direction, production and singing. It's fine that these guys are collaborating with him to make stuff but it's just odd that he gets sole credit for these things when in actual fact his involvement in the making of them is pretty minuscule.
I'm not saying Husky is stealing the show from these guys deliberately, the vid description proves he doesn't, but I mean come on; the thread title is 'Husky's SCV Love Song'. How is it his?
I am pretty sure the other guys in the video would not have made this video, let alone even know about SC2 if it wasnt for Husky. Husky made it happen. The other guys are great and they are credited (check the end credits) but if it was called Kurts SCV Love Song it wouldnt get as many initial views. Actually isnt it by Nerd Alert?
So? It doesn't change the fact Husky's actual involvement in the making of these things is nothing big. I know the other guys are credited but its just annoying seeing the community, the viewers, latch onto Husky whether they hate him or love him. This is just a personal annoyance mainly but it does raise some questions in my mind about the future relationship of the actual makers of these music videos with Husky. Shit, I'm a creative person (not a musician/composer mind you) and if I made a thing that got 3+ million views and 99.9% of those totally ignored my contribution I'd be fucking pissed as hell. Sure with Husky there the baneling video may not have gotten all the views it did but still.
And if we want to roll with this title thing then it could easily have been; "SCV Love Song feat. Husky" because that's what it is.

Ya kidding? He does this because he loves the SC2 community. He could have spent the time and the budget just plowing out commentaries to pay the bills, not making charity songs.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
aaaaaaahahahahahahahahahaha
Oh do me a favour and lose the troll act, some of us have been doing it way longer than you and we're much better at it.
Do you know the guy? No. When was the last time you spoke to him? Are you employed by the same company? Are you aware of what he does on a daily basis? Do you know how much he earns? Do you know how much money he plows into making fun content for no personal gain?
None of the above, of course.
So sit the fuck down and stick to what you're good at.
Yeah, so I'm defending my friend. Deal with it.. I won't have you slandering his good name in public without recourse.

That's retarded. If Husky doesn't want any personal gain why does he ask for more subscribers in every video he makes, including the *charity* ones? I think it's hilarious how you make Husky out to look like some kind of Saint. This is his job, he's not a charity worker. If Husky is really how you say he is then I expect him to go join the Peace Corps after he's done with sc2.
Asking for people to sub is encouraged for YouTube partners. And why is that bad? He asks for a sub. GSL asks for my $20. GSL doesn't care about SC! So what if they make money. It's part of wanting to do something you like full time. Guess what? I'd quit my job in an instant if what I liked to do provided me income. It doesn't make my intentions any less "pure."

(god espn needs to have more segments with bobby knight)
Day9 isn't like Bobby Knight. Basically for espn Analysts, this is how it goes.
Idra: Bobby Knight Day 9: Hube Brown DJ Wheat: Mike Tirico Tasteless: Erin Andrews Artosis: Dicky V Incontrol: Charles Barkley Husky: Berman
very well done but something in the lyrics(i think?) is lacking.. to rephrase, its very well done but I didn't laugh or find the lyrics clever and thats an essential part of parodies i would think or of sc2 songs
It´s hilarious that Husky gives everyone basically free casts, but some people are still like "lol he´s asking everyone to sub he´s so money hungry". He´s taking money from google (or whoever) thanks to people subbing and watching his vids, so basically google (or whoever) sponsors starcraft. But I guess that´s bad because you don´t like Husky since he doesn´t only cast all the time not asking for anything in return and he´s not 3,5k diamond.

Husky’s fans strike me as the same group of people who believe the U.S. invaded Iraq because of WMDs.
Take some advice from me kid anything involving money is never as simple as it appears on the surface. This will help you in any community college political class adventures given that you are able to graduate high school.

And you strike me as an incredibly arrogant person. romulus is pointing out that complaining about Husky for making money doing something he loves is a bit ridiculous, especially when he is providing a service to you and I free of charge. Whether or not you or I personally like that service doesn't matter, he's has every right to ask people for money so he can continue doing what he does. Granted, there are times and places where it would be inappropriate to do so, but I haven't seen Husky ask in any inappropriate or unreasonable ways.
So you don't like the fact that he asks for donations. Don't watch his stuff. Furthermore don't imply that because somebody does or doesn't believe in political issue (which is exactly how you are using it in this context) is ignorant in some fashion.
comming from a pretty neutral point of view, as i never really watched any of huskys videos i just ask myself a tiny thing: first off all, why would you bite in the hand that feeds you? if it wasnt for casters, noone would be able to watch the game outside of replays. this would significantly decrease the marketing value of the players aswell as tournaments. same goes ofcourse for casters needing the community and top tier players to make a profit. but in the end husky does nothing but asks you for a freaking mouseclick. seriously, hes not even taking a single penny out of your wallet. so why the fuck are you complaining? i cant jugde if hes acting like a saint or not, since as said above, i really dont pay attention to him or his vids, but if he does so, he has the goddamn right to do so. cause in the end he found a way for himself to make a living providing FREE entertainment for you, the community. if you dont like it, just dont watch it. but please just stop the hating.

You do realize Kurt has more subscribers than Husky? So it would theoretically get MORE initial views. The whole point of collaborations on Youtube is to share subscribers that aren't currently subscribed to both channels. (by getting more to).
edit: Okay, if he posted it on his own channel he would be showing his video to his own audience and subscribers, but by Husky posting it there is potentially 400,00 new subscribers that weren't included in the original subscriber base of Kurt. With all that said though, realistically he might gain a fraction of that with maybe 5-15k, which is still a shitload of people.
edit2: Husky himself would not be able to produce a video of that quality and if its good enough it can eventually be featured like Banelings was and attracts more people to Husky's main content. (read the Banelings comment section, hundreds of people are asking "What game is this!?")
Husky has what we call "friends" in meat-space. Friends do stuff like this for what we call "fun" in meat-space. Husky does what he does to entertain and share. He is perhaps a bit naive:
na·ive /nɑˈiv/ Show Spelled[nah-eev] Show IPA –adjective 1. having or showing unaffected simplicity of nature or absence of artificiality; unsophisticated; ingenuous. 2. having or showing a lack of experience, judgment, or information; credulous: She's so naive she believes everything she reads. He has a very naive attitude toward politics. 3. having or marked by a simple, unaffectedly direct style reflecting little or no formal training or technique: valuable naive 19th-century American portrait paintings. 4. not having previously been the subject of a scientific experiment, as an animal.
Examples of NAIVE
1. a naive belief that all people are good 2. a naive view of the world
I applaud and respect him for his efforts. Because naive or not naive he obviously has an overwhelming faith in and love for the gaming community and Starcraft in particular.
This is of course exaggerated, but I'm still a little bit disappointed.
Replace SCV song with Pylon song, replace Black Ops with Counter Strike, replace the Starcraft Needs You video with any of his older channel updates and OH NO, a short video about his dog which I`m sure really cut into the amount of videos he casted.

edit; i don't know how to make it a full video if a mod can help me out Q_Q mod edit: simply paste the youtube url and it becomes a full player automatically
But that was a pro-Idra video :< I even bought his silly gaming network card and everything Took like 10 minutes to Photoshop that hat.
Yea unfortunate bout that little skirmish between you 2 but just remember Idra will be Idra it would be counter intuitive to think he would not live up to his reputation.I also understand that it was a positive video but never know how things can be misconstrued, anyways keep up the good work. :D
