I have nothing against female only tournaments because facts clearly show that there are less top female gamers than guys. But I always wonder if that's because of the clearly smaller female pool of players, less interest from girls in general, or some other reason. Personally I'd love to see a few females in the GSL. sc2 needs a new tossgirl OK you and everyone who thinks this is important, once and for all: KEEP THIS OUT OF ANY GIRL GAMER THREAD If you feel this is worth discussing, make a new thread, present the topic, and make your argument there. Thank you.
Sorry I'm not trying to offend anybody. I will create a topic and get outta here.
No negativity towards her or anyone. Congratulations on the win!

Women are developmentally six year olds?
You guys are stupid if you think that's what he's trying to say.
He's saying that girls don't play SC2 usually, and if they do it's very casually. So the fact that a girl is so high in the ladder is impressive.
Not many 6 year olds play starcraft 2, and if they do it's very casually. So the fact that a 6 year old being at 2k points would also be impressive.
He's not saying "Girls are retarded so they can't play sc2 as good as a 6 year old could."

It's a very nice interview. Adding female presence into the tourney and interview community seems to be something that most of the posters in this thread fail to appreciate.
God kiddies, stop focusing on small issues here.
Comments like "I was confused for a second but later found out it’s because she totally forgot to research Siege Mode for her Tanks," display a feminism rarely seen in posts on these forums.

Thanks for coming in to the thread and giving us more insight, Navi. We hope to see your stream up again soon!

We need more female only tournaments to encourage women to play without being worried about the big names cutting them down. Confidence is a large part in why these girl gamers don't compete in these big tournaments. And there's a lot more pressure for women to perform well in tournaments, because to perform poorly, they are feeding the stereotype that women aren't as good, or devoted to their play. If we have more girl only tournaments, it will get the 'first tournament jitters' out of the way so they can start building confidence. As well as turning the tournament winners into symbols for girls to use as role models. Much like the Foxer/Boxer scenario where Foxer's play and skill are akin to Boxer's classic 8-minute-and-win-it rush style from his champion days in sc:bw. Women are already seen as inferior to men in the eyes of eSports because no woman has proven herself like men already have. It's a prejudice that might start to fade as soon as women start winning tournaments and eventually play together, with men, in the same tournaments. If Day[9], Artosis and all the other ambassadors of eSports want to really get this game in the eyes of the public, then why wouldn't they want to pull in the other half of the population. There hasn't been a campaign specifically targeted towards pulling women into SC2. The campaigns currently have been too gender neutral and when you're not targeting anyone specifically, you're only going to keep bringing your past customers/fans in.
I hope this rant doesn't fall on deaf ears, but there's already too many topics open about this, so making a new topic about it will just clutter the site. I'll do some brainstorming and figure something out that's unique and productive, because the more I think about it, the more I want to do something about the sexual imbalance of power in SC2.

Good games and great interview.
If I press C-up, will you give me some starcraft tips?

Ah ok. I've played about 300 games on ladder and only a handful were zvz lol (im random) so I have no clue about it.

I don't mean to be obnoxious, but she played well - why do we have to ask shit like that? how does that further the cause of female gaming? while questions like that are being asked I don't have much hope for anyone taking female progaming seriously at all. She won the female cup? Where can I find the male only cup?

Awesome is a guy. It's been confirmed. So are several other people who competed in the female-only cups.

Also, to anyone who knows: How come when I opened up Navi's stream I heard a guy's voice? Does she Skype with guys or something and I just didn't hear her voice?

I was doing customs with some VT people and someone (forgot who) said they found Awesome's profile on a site and his name is Kelvin. I was like cool, I got knocked out of the Ladies Night tournament by a guy.

Why are users on the first page being warned when they are putting forward perfectly valid points? Moderate the junk that people post please, don't inhibit freedom of expression with overboard moderation.
Congrats on the win dude.

Um I didn't warn them but I'm pretty sure everyone is getting warned if they are complaining about the fact that this was a female only league or just being rude in general. If anyone wants to discuss that, or this point I'm making right now, it needs to be discussed in a separate thread... NOT the interview thread for the winner of the event.

Why am I not surprised a female gamer terran would bunker rush and makarax to win, then fail in macro and teching.
