So lately I've been wondering where the current forum goers rank in terms of the ladder. A lot of people post in threads saying whatever, but I figured it would be nice to see the distribution for the site.
EDIT: Enough people wanted it so I redid the numbers for diamond league.

People can argue about what low, mid and high diamond are all day, but I think most will agree that your numbers are too low.
I would call low <1400, mid 1400-1800, high 1800-2100, and "top" over that, but that's just me.

Yeah I figured that the numbers would be skewed, but I decided that anyone who is above 1500 is probably laddering a lot and will eventually become over 2k.
EDIT: Although so far there seems to be enough people falling in between those rankings so I'll leave it the way it is.

I think your results will be more interesting (that is, say more about the skill of Tl users) if you redo your numbers.
Virtually any diamond player who has used their entire bonus pool will be over 1500. Making the numbers higher will say more about skill; as it is now the only people in "low diamond" will be those who have played very few games.
EDIT: Well, I too also surprised by the number of people who fall into those categories, but I still think you should redo it, if only for my own selfish curiosity about what proportion of TLers are in what I consider to be high or top diamond.

Instead of saying low/mid/high diamond and starting arguments, I think you should've just left those three words out of the poll and just ask for the pts they have.
I'm 1600 diamond myself. If I ladder hard enough tomorrow I'll probably hit 1700.

I hit 400 diamond at release and stopped laddering. Been playing customs ever since. I'd put myself at mid diamond skill level. My bonus pool is something obscene like 1000

Who cares about his labels for the point ranges? His poll is well defined and your preference of adjective isn't the point of this poll.
Though I'd rather have the poll be defined by, (current points + unused bonus pool). As most people should be well settled into their position by now that purely adding bonus pool to your points is probably accurate enough to compare person to person.

I wouldn't say points determine a "top". The players I play that are at 2300-2500 have no idea how to play and honestly feels like they matched me with rt players. You should go by win % and points because a 50-0 800 point player will never lose to a 2600 600-500 player meaning they are not top.

Heh I'm over 2200 but I would hardly call myself top diamond ><. I think of it more as "high"

I had to put low diamond down, but I plan to devote the entire day tomorrow to laddering. I'll be mid diamond by the end of tomorrow night.

High Diamond would have to be alow higher than 1800. I'm 1750 if you add bonus pool but you'd probably laugh if you saw me play.

Holy shit. The thread wasn't made to discuss what every persons opinion is on what they think is the range for low mid high diamond.

Gold and proud. I'm more inclined to go for varied macro tactics at the moment to develop my skills, about 2 games every evening, I'm called a noob by very angry platinum players very frequently, quite satisfying.

Can I make a suggestion? I don't know if this is the right place to do so but it is in regards to the ladder and I don't want to make a new thread over it.
A feature I would like to see is a 'progression bar'. This would show you your position on the progress bar to being promoted to the next league. The more games you win, the higher you go on the progression bar. The more games you lose, the lower you go on the progression bar. Once the progression bar is full, you automatically get promoted to the next league.

I found this useful despite everyone saying the numbers need to be changed. Might as well make a new list where each 100 is it's own voting category, 1100 diamond, 1200, 1300, etc. seems the only possible way people can be satisfied.

Bronze, don't have an issue with it. SC2 is my RTS to play competitively. 50/50 Win Loss ratio. I'm actually glad I got placed in bronze, as I can only get better

Top diamond doesn't mean top player. Pros have wide ranges of ratings but when it comes to games that matter they demolish top diamonds with ease.
Edit: I'm 'mid diamond' playing against high diamond with ton of bonus points cause I don't play much. Voted myself into high diamond because of it.

just fell down from 1800 to 1750, but i have about 300 in my bonuspool so i guess checking "high" shouldnt be a problem

I'm not necessarily surprised with the results so far, but I might add another poll with "How many games have you played?" to see how that fits in with the distribution.
