I believe there is a setting in the options menu where you can turn off in-game notifications. That should stop all the pop-ups (except when you get your own achievements).

Blizzard seems to have some allergy against providing proper privacy controls to their social features. At least in WoW I had the option of making an alt on a different server that no one knew about. Of course with Real ID that went out the window. If I just wanna ladder my 1v1, I want the ability to just log on and do that, without having to talk to my 2v2 partner and make up some crap excuse. Because if you tell them "I don't feel like doing 2v2 right now", that's going to be universally interpreted as "I don't feel like playing with you".

I think that's more a problem with who you associate yourself with. If you really can't tell your friend you just feel like playing 1v1 then there's a far bigger issue here. While an offline feature would be nice I really don't see it as something that should be prioritized.

We definitely need an "invisible" mode or a custom mode to choose who can see us or not. I also feel so strange that you can add someone without him knowing that you did so, and finding someone's character name and code is not very hard, especially when they do online tournaments.

While an offline feature would be nice I really don't see it as something that should be prioritized. your post is not smart i have around 50 ppl in my flist atm.sometimes i just want to go on and play a stupid ums or do 1-2 ladder games. i dont want to answer to 15 people massaging me. sometimes i dont even want some people to know im online. there is a reason why evry freakin chat tool has a invisible mode. because many many people feel the same way. this wasnt a issue before because you could just could login on a another account, set /dnd "I HAVE NO TIME!" or just /f m "just playing 2 games then off again".all that isnt possible anymore. its obvious that its a needed feature. and it doesnt matter if it gets "prioritized" because it could be implemented withing hours anyways.
