Something that bothered me ever since Beta of SC2. Whenever you log-on it gets notified to all your friends (to both real-life and game). To make things worse, it even kindly shows when you were last on to real-life friends.
There are times when I want to play SC2 without getting bothered by anyone. Could Blizzard please add a 'appear offline mode' in SC2?
It would be even more fantastic if you could choose to be in that mode B4 you log on.

Agreed.
To add to your idea, the ability to have some granular control on a per-person scale would be awesome.
Sometimes, I just don't want to talk to a specific person. Why not show as offline to them, but online to others?

I would really like this too. Sometimes I just want to log on not talk to anyone and play some games.
|
This has been stated several times, but I do agree. 90% of the time I just want to ladder.

Just don't respond to them if they talk to you?

ahh if only life and the rules of social interaction were as simple as that.

Yeah I'm still able to get msg'ed by random people even when I set myself to busy which is annoying.
|
I think everyone is waiting for this feature
Maybe for the bnet2.0 with chan patch ?
|
b.net 2.0 fail
we wont have what we should have had at launch for at least like 2 years or more, pron post 2nd expansion

definitely a useful feature. at the very least there should be a do not disturb mode that blocks popups saying your friend just yamato'd 20 units or killed 5 changelings because it gets annoying when something like that draws your attention while trying to focus.

I'ld preferr a simply check box for "Hide online status" or something like that on the log-in window.

How does the PGM deal with this ? I think they get messaged like crazy.
I shouldn't had add people from my workplace to SC2, because they see how much time i spend on the game.

This is being rude.
I don't like being rude to friends/acquaintances
An offline mode would be, just after chatrooms ("do you really want chatrooms?" :D), a major improvments. Actually most people wanted the possibility to "smurf" because that allowed playing without having to talk to anybody of your friendlist.

Oh God please yes. I can't believe they left this out. But not as much as I wants shared replays gaaarrgggehh.
|
Only if the people have reason to know each other. Plenty of difference between an RL friend and someone you played a game against once.
Anyway, I don't really see a reason to not have this implemented. The only real detraction is requiring dev time, but this doesn't really seem like a high-level thing to do.

Good point. Sometimes, though, I just want to play with that "one friend," and ignore everyone else for the time being.

Just tell the people bothering you that you don't feel like talking right now.
|
There's a busy function that doesn't allow people to send you messages. Just do that.
