Yeah, they just get in the way and using them for anything is essentially cheating

I just ordered one off an Amazon retailer (buy.com). Same as the 7G, minus a few features, for $100. Took a bit of getting used to but now it's absolutely fantastic. http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-64225-Steelseries-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B0038X3ZVM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1282413895&sr=8-1 Note: You can't buy it direct from amazon, but their retailers on that side column actually have them for sale.

-Cherry MX Blues (great for typing, shit for gaming) I would recommend the Steelseries 6gv2 if you want mechanical for gaming. (don't like the backspace on the 7g)

(don't like the backspace on the 7g) Using a Filco with blues, I can tell you that they are just fine for gaming, and are just great in general. Have to agree with the F keys though, it doesn't make sense to have a keyboard with high quality switches have such an odd placement of some keys. Still though, it does look like a nice thing to have, save for the F keys.

You can buy this direct from steelseries for 79.99. http://shop.steelseries.com/us/index.php/keyboards-us/steelseries-6gv2.html I mentioned in a previous thread I ordered one last tuesday but didn't recieve a shipping notice on my order. Apparently steelseries had some computer issues and my order shipped already. So it's legit, although I don't understand why this is going for 79.99 now when the website says 99.99 pre-release. I presume it's a website-update fail. (edit: just got shipping confirmation)

And I do not like the way the Fn keys are placed. How about the keycaps, just wonder how long they could last to wear out. Yeah, hopefully will someone try this out and post some reviews in the community. With regards to noise, they are a bit noisy, but IBM buckling spring type switches are even noisier, especially certain models of them. One thing I don't like about the keyboard I got is it's Fn key positions. If you look at the link, f1 to f24 are quite far away from the number keys :\ http://kbdholic.net/xe/?mid=sale&page=1&listStyle=webzine&vid=kbd&document_srl=355&sort_index=last_update&order_type=desc

And don't talk shit when you don't know the difference between a mechanical keyboard and a cheap rubber dome keyboard. The difference is night and day.

I can understand having a good mouse. I main Scout in tf2, thus I understand the importance of a precise mouse for aiming, but there is really no precision in keyboards, except with your own hands. Is it more comfortable?
