Yeah this is just wrong and you don't even know what you're talking about. It's not like you lose once in a tournament and you're out. You're playing a big group of people over the course of two months. If you're not up to snuff, you'll be sent packing. No the point is that some people can not win a single matchup and still make the top 24 in the tournament which still scores them points in the overall standings. Does that seem right to score points without winning at all? You should get zero points for that. Also you could with zero wins in the group stage for all the tournaments, but win one or two matches in the winners brackets and still maintain your top rankings for the whole season. Makes it incredibly hard for some of these guys who like 50-3 over the course of three tournaments to break into the top spots. Huk had a very good point. This bolded part is quiet concerning to me in terms of accurate representation of player achievement throughout the season. =/

Unfortunately, this thread usually has a lot of people who lack common sense, so the next 12 pages will probably be people raging that they didn't sit there berating MLG for 2 hours. On April 06 2011 12:54 Jibba wrote: Like I said, because they were there, the SotG guys don't really know what happened with the stream. Beyond the technical difficulties, the production plan wasn't very good. Not worth talking about then. Those problems were inherent in the 2010 season as well. I'm not saying they aren't valid, but the major problem of this MLG was obviously the internet.

Thought Naniwa went 26-2. Also, I'm pretty sure you can run simulation/stress tests on any server to simulate any number of people (We've had to do it on gamescast.tv before). The problem with MLG was underestimation, not that it was some act of god that there is no physical way they could have foreseen it coming until the numbers showed up. We can definitely forgive what happened, but to give them a round of applause and laud them for it? Nah, not til the next event and we can see the changes they make to make it better.
