It's only PvP. It's a coinflip. If MVP played him, he'd stomp him.

No, he beat the 5th place player once (extended series). If there were 2 best of threes, he would have lost the second one.
I agree that Incontrol deserved to be 4th place, there is always a little bit luck involved in the brackets, but Incontrol always performs better at offline events and beating TLO is not easy.

What a lucky guy. Ever the opportunist. He did say in SotG that he did avoid a lot of the heavy hitters in the pools. If the original top 16 from last season all came back, he would've had to wade through the open bracket. I seriously doubt he would've gotten 4th from there. Nothing against him because he played according to the MLG system. But I hate MLG's system. He played well when it mattered, it all comes down to this. He played well against terrible players, fared OK and cheesed a lot against out-of-form good players (TLO) and lose in a convincing fashion (at least, he convinced me he was bad) against good players (Select, Kiwikaki). Yeah he lost to Kiwi and SeleCT. But doesnt it make sense that the 4th place player, Incontrol, would lose to #2 and #3? (Kiwi, select)... lol WHAT DO YOU KNOW?!?!?! 4TH PLACE IS TERIBLE! HE CAN ONLY CHEESE BLABLA!!!!. Sry, i agree with you :p. 4th place is a verygood spot . cheerded for him and idra to take it tho. The only thing i hate incontrol for is that he not played vs his temate EG.Machine. I love that match :D :p Again sorry for the capslock but i just dont understand why people complain al the time about players doing well :s (or complaining @ everything for that matter xD). Geoff mayby all-ined more than he wanted to, but 1baseiwa didnt get his nick for nothing lol. But what should they care? there up there, and All-in, 4gate, cannonrush shit is all part of the game. If you like it or not ^^. And huk rushes and does cooky shit al the time and people do love him. I think there just jaloes @ Anna. That said. When is anna gonna join MLG?
The problem with what people are saying is that its cheese itself, the first game wasn't cheese at all he build two voids and went from his base as timing push its the same thing as if a terran went with two tanks and some mm
the second game is Tlo's fault he didnt scout it for like 5 minutes or whatever of it being there so incontrol took advantage of tlo's bad scouting.
good job incontrol for getting fourth in a major tournament its an achievement perhaps not as large as you would like but it should shut up some trolls :D
Edit: Didn't select cheese a few people with bunkers? I forget. I love the players but cheese is part of the game guys if you can't defeat it good luck getting out of silver

He had no choice about how it went down but made the most of the opportunity presented to him and that was more then most of the pool play players. Agreed, win is a win. Reminds me of when Jinro met IdrA in code S and blocked his ramp for a win. What are they supposed to do, NOT use really strong strategies and attacks because they're poorly perceived as all-in or cheesy!?! Win however you can!

Yeah seriously, people need to stop this trend of blaming "extenuating circumstances" for wins and losses. Starcraft (2) is a competition. Players win and lose. In virtually every circumstance, each isolated game is the result of an intense battle of skill between 2 players, not, as Day9 put it, the result of "some Russian judge." The whole point of competition and sportsmanship is to take responsibility for one's own performance, not to foist it on other factors (that's what society at large is for.) When a player wins, it is he who wins, not his circumstances.
So stop making excuses people.
Disclaimer: Yeah I know deterministically no one should have agency and responsibility in any situation, but let's not go there.

It gets a bit annoying after it gets repetitive, but the first times I saw, I thought they were amazing
It really helps for the new viewers to have an idea of what might happen, and why.
I really like that, and it only "costs" 15s or something, it's definitely something that helps a lot and doesn't do any real harm.

Guys, I'm seeing a serious flaw with something. State of the Game isn't being updated. It's not even been updated to have links to the VODs!
What's wrong? Someone get on that.
