You two have zero merit in what you are typing here because you are tossing out his points with no thought what so ever. If you are not willing to actually discuss the points then don't post here.
You think the koreans had it easy years ago when they were building it up?
it takes super dedication and time. they had no money, eating crap for food, sacrificing, blood, sweat and tears.
point is catz wants it without the effort. he has no idea of how hard the koreans had to work. it didn't come for free.
so yea I do hear his points and at the end of the day it's whining.
this whole whining about koreans is moot anyways, their dominance is going nowhere, so get used to it.

Is Blizzard really losing money compared to RIOT? So Riot > Blizzard in terms of business model? I don't think Riot's business model would work for SC2 though.

Imo all Blizzard has done is pumped more money for Korean players to win while destroying the GSL (simply put because theres no reason to even try to play in it unless your Code S and if your feeling risky enough Code A), They've also taken away players like MVP and Nestea from the GSL which is quiet astonishing to think of that tournament without those two players. Foreigners have no reason to be in Korea anymore either making the excitement of foreigners creating in an actual live studio against Koreans and poteintally winning the GSL non existent.

He has no point. He's complaining that it's hard to make money playing video games professionally. What a fucking surprise! Instead of looking for blizzard welfare, he should practise more and beat koreans. If it's too hard, tough! Life is hard!

While I kind of agree with you, the issue catz and people who think like him has, is that you cannot conceivably work an actual job AND practice enough to beat koreans, so without more support for foreigners, the skill gap between koreans and foreigners is just going to keep getting bigger.

He knows what he's talking about as far as a 20 something who wants to make money playing video games...Are you seriously implying that blizzard should make it easier for non-koreans to make money?

Yeah because you get a free shit and a fucking state parade once you announce to become a pro gamer in Korea. I don't even really disagree with what Catz means but really don't exaggerate.

Yes, and that's CatZ's point. As a long term investment, Blizzard investing in building NA and EU will be best for the scene if they can come somewhere close to Korea.

Then he shouldn't be doing this. I'm sorry that no one here is admitting it, but artosis is 100% correct, and maybe even too soft. There is no guarantee for anyone to make this a real living. Does anyone really expect blizzard to just hand out prize money to lesser skilled players?

He's saying for people that have to work to maintain their life have no means or motivation to sacrifice their whole social life to play a video game for the small 0.001% chance that they can now potentially compete and take 8th in a tournament against a bunch of Koreans. Koreans don't have to spend all day working/doing school, I'm guessing you probably leech off your parents because they enable it still and thus have no concept of what hes saying.

Exactly, there is tons of koreans who had been in bad situations as well who had to work hard to get where they are. He acts like everything is handed out for them. For every successful korean we hear about, there is a shit ton that are making next to nothing while sacrificing their education.

aren't you guys fucking listening to him at all? he emphasized he is ok with it if they decrease the prize pool hugely.
even if top 3 get like 50/20/5k dollars and koreans cant participate Catz would never make enough money via tournament prize and he knows that, what the fuck are you talking about.
