He is complaining but still working hard. He has obviously not given up, but is understandably disappointed.
Yes Korea worked hard, but BW had some things going for it like no LOL or Dota competitor, widespread popularity in PC bangs and a very small geographical area. It still took them many years to get to this point. In addition at the start they didn't have to take shit about being bad compared to region X and people not wanting to watch them because they were not the best, they were still the best and therefore the focus.
NA could still probably get to that point as it also has some things going for it (like much more sponsor interest, feasible internet streaming and some support for Blizzard). If we could boost the development in NA down from 10 years to 3 years, why not? Yes Korea struggled and worked hard, but that is no reason to force current pros to do the same if we can help them out a bit. I'm not saying Americans shouldn't work hard, they should, but why not help provide them an infrastructure in which it is easier to focus solely on SC2 and get some help in how to do it (yes you need some coaching and peer support to work as hard as Koreans).

i would bet a fair amount of money that you couldn't speak even 10% as well as that in a foreign language.
when will usa people stop thinking they're the center of the universe, jeez.
catz has like the best english of the non native english foreigners in sc2

Anyone can talk like that. Now saying he reversed his decision due to koreans because there's no longer free money in the scene for them means nothing. It just shows that they had 0 commitment to the scene in the first place. Any manager of any team could have said the same thing. It's just fluff talk until action is taken. Certainly would agree whether or not what someone might think on the overall issue. I strongly have to doubt that there has been some serious plan going by what I read there. Anyways I wouldn't really know how to fix the issue anyways. I personally and no offense would find it unfair to have again so many true na players qualifying for the world championship.

I don't see how WCS can be the infrastructure that Catz wants. It's just a tournament. Infrastructure could come from actually having more Koreans living here (Blizzard's hope, and for what it's worth, I hope they're right), but gaming isn't going to be accepted in NA any time soon compared to Korea.
Artosis I'm sure it takes years for the vast majority to become a pro gamer, but Scarlett does seem to have come out of nowhere. I wonder if they'll talk about that, though they'll probably say that it's clearly an exception.

catz has no idea how hard the koreans have worked to get where they are. Catz literally just wants it handed to him.

Wow, CatZ whines all day and never concedes, jesus. If NA was only NA players I personally wouldn't watch. Koreans will bring viewers.

CatZ's point is that a WCS tournament with only NA players would create an incentive for the NA players to play competitively and professionally, eventually building up to the level of Koreans in several years.

nah it's not what he wants he said it's ok if they decrease the prize money for NA
it's pretty much going to be 70% koreans in the NA code s, that's fucked up no matter how you look at it.

Honestly living in your parents house without any job nor education playing video games isn't an option for almost 80% of the population, Just because some people had that privilege provided by their parents doesn't mean others do. Sacrifice is sacrifice however when you take into account that a guy has to work 9-10 hours a day and then has to train a minimum 5-6 hours a day there really isn't much opportunity by any means unless you luck out.

let's put you out in the spotlight, you respond on the run to complicated matters on your 2nd or 3rd language and then have some native speakers of that criticize you because you're not speaking that language as perfectly as they do, how much of a dick move would that be?
because that's exactly what you do, you superhuman. i don't even care if that is true about you but i'm pretty sure a native speaker could laugh his ass of at your 2nd or 3rd language, so do yourself a favor and stop being such a dick.

Right.... Catz's points of it being nearly impossible for individuals in NA to practice like koreans because there is no infrastructure is a perfectly well thought out problem that is happening here. You two have zero merit in what you are typing here because you are tossing out his points with no thought what so ever. If you are not willing to actually discuss the points then don't post here.

Needs more thankfulness for what Blizzard IS doing rather than not doing (right now).

Dude, I'm so sick of hearing people fucking complain that blizzard isn't handing them money to play their game. Either shut up practice and beat Koreans, or get a real fucking job.
