It seems really difficult to JP to say anything that wouldn't be construed as throwing his hosts under the bus. The community wants SOTG, the pillars clearly can't do it for whatever reason, how do you come off not looking like the bad guy when you say "these really popular figures within the community don't wanna do the show"?

Isn't that preferable to the current state of affairs?

I enjoyed listening to the podcast on long car rides or at the gym (it's an awesome distraction from the torture machine that is the stair master). But, I've seen how damn busy Incontrol is. I'm sure Day9 is running himself ragged. It makes sense that at some point they have to prioritize. They can't give us endless content. I am still going on the record as "sad" though.

Or:
“These really popular members of the community want to be paid more money for doing a weekly show”
Or: “The sponsors/employer for really popular members of the community have a conflict with the sponsor we found”
Or:
“The teams that these really popular members of the community are members of are concerned with the amount of time the show takes,”
Pick any one of those or pick all of them.

To be a bit of a devil's advocate, at this point if it's the hosts who are holding up the show coming back, they should say so.

No, that would be unprofessional and everyone involved with no gain. In the end, it would most likely lead to there begin no SotG and then no one would get what they want. Business deals and contracts are private matters and the community really needs to accept that and just enjoy all the good stuff JP puts out for us.

I don't think that's accurate. I don't think specifics need to be gone into, but if the show can't come back because of some combination of the hosts and their needs, that should be said. The current situation is terrible for JP and the SotG brand. He's beholden to that, IMO, more than he is to the reputations of his cohosts.

In that case the popular figures in question should say so in public themselves, in order not to throw JP under the bus.
But there seem to be some kind of negotiations going on, otherwise they already could have told us it's not coming back. And it's always kinda hard to make an announcement during negotiations.

Every time this thread gets bumped, I feel a fleeting moment of hope.
Then I open to find the startling information that... nothing has changed.
TL, you're killing me inside, bit by bit.

It is really old SotG humor, where Incontrol announced that he was going to make an announcement at a later date. Everyone gave him a lot of crap for it. It is amusing because it was people are asking for. Please announce when you are going to announce the return of SotG
