I think that for someone with as much experience as yourself, I find it weird that you take anything you read here or on the Internet personally. For me, it comes off as pretty unprofessional, especially when you seem so emotionally involved in every of your posts. If anything, what I would get out of this thread is that people care, alot. I realize this isn't content you are paid for (unless I'm wrong), but I doubt this is the way to handle it.
You basically know people want it, and you can say all you want about them being ungrateful jerks, but it only comes down to you wanting to do it or not, and either is fine. If you want to do the show, then do it; you know people love it and want it. If you don't want to do it, why be emotionally involved with what people say here? Stay classy and treat this like business.
I tend to agree. JP is reacting as if someone is trying to hurt his son or daughter. After all, it's just a game show. While being wildly popular there are close substitutes to it so it's not like he's sitting on some kind of untouchable goldmine and can act accordingly. It's simple enough, do it or don't, just don't overdramatize the whole situation.

This thread has always been a trollfest, even when the show as up. People suck.
This does not seem too difficult to understand. If the shows not back, the shows not back. Demanding it won't do anything clearly. People need to chill out and stop freaking out. How about we divert all this energy from this show, and directing it at something like finishing Samurai Jack.

Agreed and the longer it has gone without a show, the more the trolls have taken over. Always love SotG and I wish the hosts would just ignore every part of this thread. No matter how much positive feed back fans provide, the trolls and whiners come and freak out after every show. Crying about the lack of a terran, not enough coverage of builds, not enough coverage of tournaments and it goes on and on. Every week people found things to freak out about. It is a true example of Lewis CK’s theory of “everything is awesome, and no one is happy”.
I just want JP to adopt the attitude “Whine all you want trolls, you will be back next week” and keep making the show he and the hosts want to make.

You could also just do your thing and let people have their different opinions without insulting them. Why on earth is it bad to ask for more Terran, more coverage of builds and tournaments? What does that have to do with whining and trolling?
If you think there should only be "positive feedback", you misunderstand the concept of feedback. If you do something creative on a regular basis and people just go on and on about how awesome you are, that sure feels good from time to time, but it doesn't help you. Calling everything awesome is just as pointless as calling everything terrible.
That "everything is awesome" about SotG is your opinion, right? Are different opinions allowed to exist?
Where do people get the idea that there should be or can be 100 percent approval of anything? Can you name one thing or person in history that got 100 percent approval? It doesn't happen, and neither should it.

I dont think State of the game really has a role in the community anymore. They havent discussed the state of the game in like...a year? Well, they did occasionally but it was rare, and it was a sideshow. They focused on drama. And they've disappeared for months. Other mediums have come up that actually discuss game balance [catz show for example] that can actually be relied on.

Stop fucking bumping this thread. And no, the irony is not lost on me. STOP DOING IT.

The HotS beta is actually the best opportunity for the show to go back to its roots...

If you have constructive feed back, do what I do and use the private message system and contact JP directly. He has a twitter account, youtube channel a number of other ways for you to express you feelings on the way the show should be directed or what form of content you would like to see. Also, I don't have a problem with people wanting the things I listed above. If they want them, its great and they should ask for them.
My problem is with the trolls who only live to bitch and tear things down. If you listened to the Executives this week with Husky, he said it best "The first hundred or so people will provide you with good feedback, the rest is best to ignore because its the internet." There are people who are never going to be happy with SotG, even if they had a terran, tried to devote equal time to each event and spent a chunck of the show talking about new builds. Some people would still find reasons to be upset with the show and complain. It is the nature of making a show, you can't make everyone happy and shouldn't try.
Tasteless had the right plan, which to look for feedback from other in the industry.

Yep.
We just miss the show, JP. Come back soon.

JP is playing Resident Evil 5 with Livinpink live right now.

I get the feeling he's just waiting for shit to die down entirely to restart. It'd actually honestly be better if he didn't do any streaming on the side and did minimal social media going.
Unless he's planning on rereleasing coinciding with the release of HOTS, which is also probably a good idea too.

Oh, and for those who care I'm re-uploading episodes 1-30 as videos on my YouTube (itmejp.com). They will only be audio with a logo.
I think the people that actually say anything meaningful more or less stay away from this thread for the same reason as you do. There's no news right now, so almost by default, most of what is left is going to be speculation, and whining about speculation, and opinions, and whining about opinions. . . and the absolute worst, the opinions about people whining about fucking speculation.

I quietly and eagerly await the next State of the Game show. I am disapointed you took an extended break, but remain hopeful that you will return. As your quote signiture says, don't be a hater. The flip side of that is to ignore the haters. If it isn't constructive critism, then ignore it. The only constructive critism I have is to continue the show.

Well atleast all the attention good and bad means the show is still viable.
