FYI, this is coming from someone who watches a lot of starcraft but only plays a little. I occasinally watch SOTG but not every episode.
I watched the interaction with Avilo, and the whole thing reeked of a kind of unprofessional that I never would expect from JP's show.
I don't know who Avilo is, but he was brought on as a guest on the show and shit all over by Idra while everyone but QXC stood by and watched. After shitting all over him, JP cut him off and apologized to Idra (after Idra told the guest to "Shut the fuck up.") It sounded to me like Avilo had valid points he wanted to make, but nobody really cared to listen to him.
JP, if you read this, don't bring people on your show only to ignore them while you entertain yourself with chat links and have your regulars tell them to STFU. If you aren't going to give your guests an equal platform as the regulars, then don't bring them all at all.
I've always enjoyed the shows that I have watched, but this was simply a disgrace.

I have to admit it would be funny to hear what MKP thinks of Idra's and Inc's play, sort it JP!!!!!!!!

did you really argue that idra has no results?.. REALLY? idra as bad as his slump has been is still one of the most succesful foreigners to date, whereas avilo hasn't done shit
The fact that he has results and also is a master puppet of EG doesn't give him rights to talk shit and act like a 14 years old kiddo on a live show watched by 10k people. But of course, knowing this community, if it was Naniwa for example instead of Idra, he would got hang up for being the biggest dick alive. He says Avilo has no place in anything serious in the community , but from what i see lately, Idra is becoming more of a starcraft clown than a pro player, so i would say that currently Idra has no place in anything serious in the community.

Clearly not.
IdrA was provoked by Avilo, and IdrA responded by doing what he does best, flat out telling people his opinion to shut them up. I don't see how people could fault IdrA here at all...
Being provoked is not a good enough reason to lose your temper. I thought a person who speak of intelligence will understand this fact. Letting your emotion overrun your rationale is rarely a good thing. Moreover, if your logic stands, people can be justified to be rude whenever he likes just because he can claim he is provoked whenever he wants. Next, the opposite guy will get provoked cause he was treated poorly.....and it just starts a vicious cycle and everyone get more and more mad.

MKP will just take the Incontrol route telling everyone that what Idra is just trying to get attention by talking bad words and he will refuse to comment on Idra's words to deny Idra from more attention.

Losing your temper and speaking your mind are two entirely different things. People should learn the difference, and then drama like this wouldn't need any more attention then a reddit thread (which is bound to happen either way)

I was under the impression that IdrA was provoking Avilo. First they talk bad about him before he is even on the show. Avilo even asks about it, but they refuse to awnser him. Then IdrA is giving very sarcastic awsner against the arguments Avilo is making.
Honestly, if someone was acting like such a jerk against me, I wouldnt be as nice as Avilo was.

Telling a guest to "STFU" and straight up insulting someone is considered losing temper. In fact, it is reasonable to say it is rude and such acts should never be promoted. He did express his opinion, but he should not said those two things.

If this were supposed to be serious/professional talkshow shit like this shouldn't happen, it's not though.

Yeah the Avilo thing was bullshit in my mind. Okay maybe a bad idea for Avilo to walk into that, but that was pretty much a public ambush, not sure if there was anyway that could have gone well for Avilo.
He made several good points and obviously they where similar to what QXC said before but they where still good and there was some new points in there to. Obviously terran can win TvZ late game, you would be an idiot to say otherwise, but that is not the point. The point it is that it is a lot harder for terran then it is for zerg.
Idra was obviously not interested in having an discussion and I feel most of the blame is actually on JP for creating that situation, things went bad which everyone knew it would and once they achieved that Avilo was kicked instantly. That is something a bully in highschool would do, I think we should have moved past that point.
Also the point Idra makes that Avilo is a bad player is another thing I would like to bring up. SC2 players, specially in SOTG, like to praise themselves for being such tactical masterminds but fail to acknowledge that starcraft 2 is 50% understanding the game and 50% actually playing the game. SC2 skill is not equal to SC2 understanding and for players to argue like that is bullshit, "I have higher win rate then you, therefore I am per definition correct".
Many of the things that makes you are great SC2 player could be grasped by an 8 year old child. It is good to: always have 100% minimap awareness, never get supply blocked, micro your units optimally to divided damage and maximize DPS, use you resources constantly, attacking and controlling a 5 different locations simultaneously. Yet If you look at a player like MKP (who recently was discussed as the best SC2 player in the world), the major reasons behind his success is because he excels at several of the points I mentioned above.
Cause the problem is not only understanding it, but also actually doing it.

The way you guys handled the Avilo thing is disrespectful and very unprofessional.
|
The way these guys treated avilo was disgusting, they should be ashamed of themselves, this is not what i came to see on SOTG.
|
Well Avilo was lost from the beginning, they were just gona bull him and well they knew they got it won cuz the IdrA fan base is higher.
Such a shame we gotta see this bully moves in SOTG.

^Can't take that seriously with that username, Mr. Prime.
Anyway, good job on IdrA for trying his hardest to stay patient until he snapped. All the good points were already stated by qxc and Avilo didn't have much to add anyway, so it was a bad idea for them to bring him in. As previously stated within the thread, Avilo was only calling out SOTG for not having a Terran presence and promptly silenced himself when they got qxc on. There was no need to get him in there, as qxc already presented similar points and did a better job of making his points, as well as proficiently debating with IdrA, and the whole segment with Avilo after the initial qxc vs IdrA debate was completely unnecessary.
JP should be a bit more wary of iNconTROLLing.

Seriously, people are taking this small little incident out of proportions.
Good episode as always, JP!

Watched state of the game, not the BBC news, really loved the episode, Avilo thing was alright, thought they shouldn't bring people who would say "What you got against me?" as soon as they come on.

Idra is bad at the game.

People were making fun of Avilo for the fact that he has always whined about terran and thinks he is right, so noone takes him seriusly. So to the people that think INcontrol or IdrA are jerks, even if they are, they have a pretty legit reason for doing it.

Or maybe you should not talk bullshit about other players and invite them into a public ambush?
Of course we can choose to act unprofessionally and behave like a highschool bullies if we want to, I however had hoped we would have moved past that point.
