His game knowledge is poor these days.
He consistantly overemphasises things which aren't important.
He overhypes everything to the point of insulting the intelligence of the viewers (if the supply is 200 vs 70 the game is over Sean, stop shouting).
He is extremely biased towards foreign players
His knowledge of players (especially Koreans) is really poor, he doesn't know which tournaments they've done well and doesn't know their best matchups or the styles they favour.
He is extremely positive about players even as they play really poorly and especially when foreigners play he will never call a spade a spade.
The standard of casters in general is so poor compared with mainstream sports. It's unbelievable that so many casters don't know how players they're casting play or their strengths and weaknesses.

did mvp feel well with his injured wrist when he won gsl against squirtle last week? probably not.
day 9 got in a player that doesnt fit the criteria of "one of the best players in the world" and he needs to feel responsible for this . the last time an invite like this was done was probably lucifron in dreamhack valencia but that was to appeal to the local crowd. this time there is no real reason outside that lastshadow seems to be a friend of day 9
Day9 doesn't "need" to do anything. Acquire a grasp on reality, please. It's just a game and LS playing and failing isn't important enough to demand anybody's head on the block.
Sheth, Ostojiy, Thorzain or Illusion didn't exactly have extremely impressive runs either (perfectly understandable results given the level of competition), but no one is getting upset about this - but that's because we've collectively decided to like Sheth or whatever. I had my fair share of schadenfreude when LS went 0-3 as well, because that's just human nature, but this LS/Day9 nepotism witchhunt that Incontrol is partially responsible for just shows how dumb and single minded this community is. Get over it.

I actually found Illusion's performance to be quite impressive.

why do people make a big deal out of this LS incidence. it happened - ok - cant do anything about it and i'm sure day9 learned something from it. I'm sure day9 will avoid such a decision in future.

Taking out Ganzi and putting up a fight against Violet... not a lot of foreign players can say they have done that. The kid has potential and doesn't have the massive backing that some players do.

Man, I'm not even going to go through all the **** that is written without deep consideration when regarding someone who puts in loads and loads more of effort into the community and the scene in general. All this witchhunt is just going out of control and a lot of this gossip is just as stupid as someone mindlessly obsessing with some of the latest fashion. Just enjoy the show; at least that's what I would do since I'm not really contributing to the scene or really helping it go forward.
tl;dr Have fun, make constructive criticism, don't put more pressure onto those helping us develop the scene and support them.

as did I - I was really rooting for him and I even asked "best NA terran?" in the LR thread. But that's not the point. As a whole, his results and performance were only moderately better than what LS managed to do (and Illusion's group was easier) It's because the community has decided to hate LS that there is even an issue here. No one is upset about Ostojiy's invite/performance, and Ostojiy's merits aren't any more impressive than those of LS. But Ostojiy hasn't been talking shit or been on the Artosis hour, so no one is looking to tear him down.
This whole thing is beyond silly. Mismatches happen in sports all the time, especially in invite/matchmaking situations like boxing/MMA. I think it's better for "esports" that there are tournaments that function differently, so that every viewing experience isn't exactly the same. Say what you will about how LS was invited, but at least it made for a very specific viewing experience.

I think he is fun to watch when he does his dailies but when it comes to his event casting...he has some things that he should work on.
"He consistantly overemphasises things which aren't important. He overhypes everything to the point of insulting the intelligence of the viewers (if the supply is 200 vs 70 the game is over Sean, stop shouting)."
These are my main problems with his casting. I hope he can take my and everyone elses suggestions with good heart and try to better his casting.

So how does Ostojiy get out of a 0-3 unremarked upon, while LS gets hounded, while idiots are demanding Day9's retirement because of LS' performance?

He doesn't read any feedback though does he, part of his somewhat odd life philosophy of blanket ignoring anything negative.
Day[9] is the only reason I got this game and followed the scene for the last couple of years, but I have to say recently I do feel like he's a bit too much all the time. The AHGL was what made it stand out for me, literally screaming about very average players doing absolutely nothing of interest.

There are so many better wildcard picks that you could have than LS, especially if you are paying for travel. Imagine all the sick Koreans you could invite, although I realize it is difficult with Code A quals and first week of GSTL (ForGG, B4, Sage, Seal, Miya are all Koreans I want to see more of). Or if you want foreign Terrans, maybe Beastyqt, Kas, Lucifron, DBS etc etc. There are so many more better picks, more deserving than LS.
