I'm so fucking tired of that argument. Have you watched The Executives: Total Biscuit? Have you listened to Day[9] and Husky giving advice to aspiring creatives?
They all said one thing in common: put out content regularly. That is why every other show on the earth has a schedule. That is why Day[9] pulls himself in front of the webcam even on sick days. GSL LQ is free. Should we not be dissatisfied still, when their airtime is as hit-or-miss as SotG? No, the scale doesn't matter at all. As a show in this space you are all hunting for the same eyes and ears of people, whether you are a paid service or put out stuff for free. No matter how original or of high quality you are, when you don't air, people don't get to see or hear you. The argument that something is for free even works against you as a content provider. You have to put into that extra amount of work to differentiate yourself from everyone else that also is free. Your audience can only watch so much one at a time.
Funny enough, the people of SotG are exactly those that understand this. That is how JP managed to establish himself, to raise attention and eventually be hired by MLG. By working fucking hard. At least for me, that is one reason I appreciate all the things he does. I understand the reasons as to why this or that particular show of the week could not be held. Sometimes things just don't align the way you want them to. That is, however, still not a good thing. The hosts agree and are working to get back on track. So while one can be sympathetic with the circumstances, it is not only advisable but imperative to recognize and address deficiencies. The show has lee-way based on trust, which, like everything else, is depletable.

To compare SotG to the Daily or GSL is just silly. They aren't nearly the same thing. Would a weekly SotG be awesome? Of course. But its pretty much impossible to do.

Let me elaborate: Creating content is the life blood of everyone in media. Regardless of what you do, on what scale you do it, whether you sell it or give out for free. Or to be even more specific: delivering new content is the life blood of every product in media. I stand by my point that there is zero difference between GSL and SotG, between those two and Destiny's stream and all of them to Glider's Portrait Art Youtube channel or ESFI's daily coverage: from a fundamental perspective of success in media. No matter what you do, do it regularly. Every established content creator will tell you this. One may or may not like Orb, but part of ESV's Korean Weekly's success was based on his willingness to cast endless hours on a regular basis. That is why Khaldor is staying up late in KR to cast European online cups. It really isn't that difficult. We all sure want a weekly show. It sure is not always possible. But the fact it isn't airing regularly should be allowed to be called bad.
I'm not discussing the dependency of JP as a person right at this moment. Still, he didn't start off with MLG. He was so happy the day he could announce he'll finally make a living out of what he does. Now he has a full time employment and yes, his livelihood isn't based on the show - now. His well-being may not be tied anymore, but the product of SotG is. I have little doubts that the host are invested in the show, however.

SotG isn't the lifeblood of any of the hosts though. Tyler and Geoff aren't content creators. They are professional players. Artosis isn't a content creator. He is a professional commentator. Tournaments will always come first to those guys. Day9 is a content creator, but his main content isn't SotG, its the daily. And yeah, SotG helped JP get his full time job at MLG. But so did all the hard work he did for MLG before he was brought on full time.
If you can't see the difference between SotG and GSL, then you are just being stubborn. If GSL stopped for two months, the whole Korean scene would be flipped upside down. If SotG stops for two months, oh well no big deal.
Those ESV weeklys are Orb's lifeblood. Casting tournaments is Khaldors lifeblood. Destiny's stream is his lifeblood. SotG is none of the pillars lifeblood. They have more important things to do for the scene than a weekly podcast.
You know what is far worse than not regularly having SotG? Not regularly seeing Nony and Incontrol compete at tournaments. Not seeing Day9 do his daily regularly. Not seeing Artosis and Day9 commentating tournaments on a regular basis. Not seeing JP be able to do esports full time because he chooses to do SotG more than his MLG work. That is bad.

Yes, when we are discussing the lives of the hosts. I'm discussing the show. To put it blunt, when SotG stops, it's the death of the show, nothing more nothing less. But commenting as a fan of the show, that'll be bad for me as the audience. And I am here in this post to write as a fan of the show

The sad thing is? I NEVER get to watch SotG live(which is what I really enjoy) because of this irregularity.
Don't get me wrong I understand that this is a SIDE project for JP now(like it or not its pretty damn obvious that it is). I am not one of those that feels that I am entitled to ANYTHING from these guys. But it's a shame that it's this way.
Maybe JP should find someone that could produce the weekly episodes each week that way all he has to do is just HOST. No xsplit BS or show notes...Show up and talk about Starcraft! I know there must be plenty of capable, trustworthy, connected people out there that would be willing to help out. It's a complicated issue but JP please do something man!

It's not a side project anymore. He has stated that he has a contract or something of that nature now where he has to produce a certain amount of episodes a year now.
