One thing I wanted to point out. In the discussion of Sao Paulo, there were literally no mentions of the 3rd place finisher. Has it gotten to the point where a good result from Ret is just too expected to even discuss? I figured his crazy run of ZvZ the whole tournament would be interesting, if for no other reason than to put to bed that notion that it's a coinflip matchup. Ret was clearly the better than the folks he beat and clearly not as good as the zerg he lost to. Seems like ZvZ may actually be pretty fair. :-o | ||

@QXC: I feel like it's not an accident that, a MULE allows Terran to conserve the same amount of supply as a bunker utilizes. If Terran has a base with an orbital, a bunker full of marines, and 12 scv's on minerals, it not only uses the same total supply and generates the same income as either a protoss base with two photon cannons and 16 probes or a zerg base with two spines and 16 drones, it also comes to the same supply and income totals for a base with a planetary and 16 scv's. In fact, if the cost of the marines is offset against the minerals conserved by not making 4 scv's, then the cost of defending the orbital base is 300 minerals for the bunker + orbital upgrade. Assuming you need a pylon for supply, defending with 2 cannons costs 300 minerals, and assuming you replace the drones then defending with 2 spines also costs 300 minerals. Even using a planetary costs 300 resources in total. You could argue that reinforcing a Terran base with a second bunker sucks since it either uses supply or costs much more (macro orbital + bunker), but neither the planetary nor the orbital seem to me to lack for advantages in exchange. Not least of which is the option to pull the marines out of the bunkers... | ||

There was a similar situation in CS, and it ended up getting banned from most tournaments even though you didn't have to use a 3rd party program or anything, you could just set it in the options. | ||
